Mb Malik"limited Edition" Double Edge Cricket Bat,english Willow,with Free Cover

MB Bubber Sher bats for $199 ~ $225 and MB Malik Limited edition at $249 to $299, depending on the retailer and their stock condition. I purchased one in 2010 and performed very well for 3 years before it broke down. However i never went back to buying another one, because there were so many fakes and finding a genuine one proved quite difficult. Cricket Merchant LLC and Cricstoreonline are my usual spots to purchase these bats and off late i find that they are also carrying very low or zero stock of MB bubber sher and limited edition bats.These bats have a concave back profile, good spine height, 6mm scalloping, slightly rounded front face and deep bow. All these factors contribute to excellent pick up and the weight never feels heavy. 2lb 12oz feels like 2lb 9oz bat ! Excellent for hard hitting player and for the witty late timers of the ball as well. Sweet spot is generally in the mid to low region.Bat predominantly has a good quality english willow with usually 6 to 10 straight grains (sometimes there are crazy ones with 15 grains or so). Minor blemishes are seen near the edges or toe region. Toe comes buffed with some sort of fiber glass layer, so there is no need for toe protector until this one falls off :-) I would refrain from calling these bats as grade 1 english willow, because a seller mentioned to me that MB grades a bat based on the ping and performance.All the above reason make a good cause for you to visit a store in person and buy this bat. If that's not possible, ask the seller to send you actual pictures of the bat or check multiple bats via a skype call or something. Cricket merchant, Cricstoreonline, Desisport - all these guys do respond to such request. Perform due diligence before buying this bat ... Don't end up with a fake and repent on the loss !** Double Edge bats **It seems to be a lamination of two clefts. The bat face might show excellent grains, but the other side of the bat shows blemishes and very less grains. It's against conventional wisdom, usually sellers recommend reviewing the bat face and back to ensure nearly same grains are seen on both sides.Will post pictures of this double edge stuff soon ...
