Active Directory Cookbook: Solutions for Administrators & Developers

Bought it for my college course in software deployment and this proved to be extremely helpful!

Excellent Book! If your wanting a quick reference on how to accomplish a task this is the book. The format is, if your having this problem then do this with 3 examples for each task.

I was exposed quite a lot to AD as an admin but also as a DFIR investigator and I can tell you the book is probably good/decent for the first type of role.PROs: - if you're trying to accomplish a task (simple or not) you have plenty of recipes to perform certain tasks. - more than the recipes you will also find *some* background info about AD concepts and how it works.CONs: - I find a lot of important info is missing like: what FSMO roles do, what is the impact and not having one of those and for how long can you survive without one. - or changing a user's password what does it look like (you need to contact the PDC among other things...). - or which rights/limitations of privileges you have if you belong to certain built-in groups (e.g. GPO Creator Owners can only modify the objects they created). - I've seen nothing on auditing AD related events or troubleshooting (sometimes "cryptic") error messages.And the list could go on... I guess the audience this book is really for is people with zero knowledge of AD who want to have an idea as to what this is all about.

Active Directoryの管理について、細かなシナリオごとに操作方法（GUI/CLI）と考慮事項を解説した書籍です。残念ながら日本語訳はされておりませんが、操作だけなら中学生レベルの英語読解力があれば問題なく読めるはずです。Active Directoryそのものについて勉強したいのであれば同じくオライリーより「Active Directory」が出版されているので、そちらを一読すればよいでしょう。ただし残念ながら、日本語訳は絶版となっております。
