We used this feeder for feeding the fish in our pond. The raccoons and squirrels kept getting into the old one. The design of this is perfect. Now the fish are happy and the squirrels and raccoons are frustrated .

Mixed reviews but this product worked great for me. I did not write the review until I used it for three months. Never jammed and never had an issue throwing shelled corn.

I bought this feeder in August 25, never worked as advertised, would not throw corn and motor locked up after 60 days. From the looks of the reviews this is an on going issue with the motor. Shame on Moultrie for not making this right.

Works great to put the feed where you want it

Greatly improved from the earlier model. Easy to install and seems to work well. It's a shame it costs as much as it does. Not many on the market so this is the one I got. The one I had before simply fell apart and was poorly made. Hopefully this one holds up better. Time will tell. Update: almost made it three seasons before the control board crapped out.

This feeder kit is perfect if you’re looking to build a custom feeder. For instance, I built a 5 gallon bucket feeder for deer in the backyard. This came with all the required parts and pieces in order to mount the feeder to any surface you would like. The feeder has been going for three months and has not killed the battery yet. We are using a solar panel for the 6 V battery that we bought also on Amazon. The motor spins freely, has not plugged and the protective cage around it keeps rodents out such as squirrels, raccoons and other pests. Having a directional feeder is awesome because you can keep the feed in one spot instead of spreading it all over your yard in different directions and hitting/damaging things you do not want to hit.

This spinner is ok for the price. As directional feeders are pretty overpriced. But it is a niche item. So that means they can charge more for them. As most people I use it for a pond fish feeder. Sometimes the fish food will get damp and swell. Thus making it where the spinner cannot spin. You will have to free it up manually.This unit is not gonna throw very far, even when you use a 5ah battery. I still have to put the feeder half in and out of the water to make sure it does not go on the ground. The max that it throws, is probably 6 foot away from the feeder itself, but will still drop some directly underneath it. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and order the Moultrie 6 V 5AH battery when you buy this directional set up. It will not work at all with a standard 6 V lantern battery.
