Simple and easy. Such a great tool for any fisherman. With this bobber we have started to map our home lake. 100% worth every penny.

So I have been trying this out all weekend. I took it to my top fishing spots and learned more about the structure under the water in 5 minutes than I have in 3 years. I live the GPS features and the history features. It has helped me better target the fish. The night cover and blinking light helps me target catfish at night. The drawback is that sometimes it will glitch and give you a lot of false readings. Also I see a lot of fish on the screen in shallower water but the algorithm doesn't call it a fish. The only other drawback is the cost. It is a pretty penny for a piece of gear that can easily get lost. I do reccomend you constantly check your eye bolt and knots on this before you cast. The bobber is heavy so you need a medium heavy to heavy rod and reel. Overall, if you're a serious angler who wants to take it to a new level, this is a great place to start.

*****UPDATE*******I received the new sonar on 12/29. I contacted the person that I had been working with at Deeper, and he apologized for the delay, but with the Holidays, they were pretty backed up fulfilling orders. That was understandable. I have not had the chance to go out and use it yet though, as there is ice on the water here, and I don't hard water fish.I love the sonar and other features of the Deeper Pro+. The app is very easy to use, and got some very good maps of the places I used it. It is much easier for me to see using the orange "night" cover during the day as well. Had a hard time seeing the black. I did have a "fatal" failure though it was not because of the device necessarily, but rather the equipment I used with it. Make sure you use a good strong musky type rod, and a dependable reel. I used a reel that I had been having issues with, and during a medium/hard cast to get some distance, the reel backlashed and knotted up when the Deeper was about 20 ft out or so, and my 65 lb line pulled the escrutcheon out the cover, and my Deeper floated away on the bay of Green Bay. After a lot of emails proving the failure, Deeper has agreed to replace my sonar. I have not yet received it after 2-3 weeks. Would give more stars if I did not have to jump through so many hoops and wait so long. Will update when I get my new one and have a chance to get more use.

Got this as an early Christmas present from my wife and kids in 2018. Works great in both fresh and saltwater. (Just remember to rinse it off after saltwater exposure). The offline map feature is an added bonus that is available around the world. Recently went deep sea fishing in South Korea and it was on point. I had better fish finding accuracy than the on-board fish finder the captain was using! Decent weight for its size, so casting it a good long distance is easy as well. Great overall buy for your fishing family and friends.

I don’t know what’s more frustrating fishing and not knowing if there’s any fish under the boat or using this knowing there’s fish under the boat and not having them take the bait. It’s was easy to set up. Graphics are great.

Easy to use. Good directions and support. Worth its weight in gold. Will just have to see how durability is.

Do not buy.I would gove 0 stars if I could.These sonar units are not waterproof and deeper will try to screw you on the warranty. I had a charging port break (female port on the deeper), sent it in for warranty and deeper tells me the unit had water damage. The exact quote from their customer support email reads -I wanted to inform you that your Deeper has been examined carefully and water damage was found. Attached are the pictures where you can clearly see the infringements.To determine the origin of damage Deeper has gone through complete water tightness tests: High-pressure test was applied to check the body and cover of Deeper and no splits or cracks were identified  The sealing gasket was checked for tightness.After conducting these tests we can conclude that there are no manufacturing defects and water damage occurred due to misuse.Possible ways of misuse:1. The top Deeper cover was not screwed according to instructions. Water Proof marks have to match perfectly.2. Deeper was put into the water without the top cover;3. Deeper was left out in damp environment for a long time without the top cover.RESPONSE TO #1- I used this unit almost daily, I know how to align the water proof marks (I can show the history from the deeper app and lakebook).RESPONSE TO #2- DOESNT DESERVE A RESPONSE. Pictures they sent back indicate very localized water damage, specifically aroind the broken charing port (should be in review).RESPONSE TO #3- Does the deeper have to be stored in a dessicant boxwhile not in use? Does it have to be charged inside a 0% humidity room? I live in Colorado The only time the unit sat with the cover off was to charge it.DEEPER clearly does not want to honor their warranty.

I really likie my new sonar :) .... This brings shore fishing to a new level. I experienced the disconnect issue a number of times while testing it, but that wasn't so much a big deal because it reconnects in just a few seconds. I can deal with this but understand this my have as much to do with my phone as it could be the deeper unit itself. Regardless the picture you see on the screen is every bit as nice as the kayak sonar I use and had no issue understanding the lay out within 10 mins of use. I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone that thinks a portable / castable sonar would benefit them.
