Ordered a Ridgid k400 with Auto feed and got it with a broken Auto Feeder, but I am still giving a 5 star because they sent out a replacement Auto feeder ASAP I got it within 48hrs very happy with the seller. I have been using the K400 for my sewer company for a little over a year but had one without the feeder and loved it so much I ordered a second one with the Feeder highly recommend

This is a great product for the price. What little there was to assemble was very easy. Easy to use. I got the 75 foot 1/2 inch cable. I put it down the clean out in the basement to clean grease and stuff clogging pipe from the kitchen sink. Not only did it open the pipe up but I kept going and it went outside and cleaned out roots. I pulled a bunch of roots out of the pipe. The 75 foot cable was plenty long enough. The machine has plenty of power for any job at home. Make sure you get the Autofeed because it is definitely worth the extra money. It made the machine easy to use. Make sure you have your gloves on and keep machine close to the opening of the pipe with your hands on the cable at the opening so as to not twist the cable. Machine is definitely worth the money.

The box was opened and parts were missing. Now I have to return the whole item. Instead of sending the me the parts. What a joke. This drain machine weighs like 140 lbs

I have a Florida heat pump system for my house. It drains into a retention pond to be recycled. The pipes clog with sediment and need to be periodically cleaned. I bought this to keep from having to rent the machine a few times a year. It is not a commercial product but will work well for occasional home use. Seems to work reliably. I've used it 6 times without incident.

Person that received this as a gift says that he would recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy one. Ridgid products are all great products, built well, very durable.

The Ridged K-400 with auto feed is a mix of good and bad. On the positive side, I was able to successfully use it to save myself another $200 visit from the plumber. And, for the most part the base unit appears to be relatively robustly built, certainly better in comparison to what I was looking at buying for about half the price from my local imported disposable tool store. Now for the not so good. The auto feed mechanism is severely disappointing for a tool that I spent this much money on. When I first tried to use it, it didn’t work at all. After I manually pushed and pulled the cable through it a dozen times and got some lubricant distributed onto the rollers it worked somewhere closer to poorly than the original not at all. So at the risk of being macabre, I am hoping after I use the K400 a few more times and the shiny new cable builds up a coating of whatever can’t easily be rinsed off, it will hopefully start to work better. Fortunately, it works better in the forward direction than reverse, so if you lean on the lever with about 20 pounds of force in the forward direction it will self-feed slowly into what you are trying to clear. And, it will back up a few inches here and there if you carefully wiggle the lever a little side to side to get the rollers perfectly lined up. In regard to a sustained pull to extract the cable, the best I could do was if I pulled the cable out of the sewer a foot at time with my gloved hand, it would then suck up the slack if I aggressively leaned on the lever. Don’t expect to be able to do much with the included tools. The ½ inch cable is stiff enough that it won’t readily navigate bends in 2 inch and under pipes, and the included attachable tools are small enough that they will probably just go back and forth through a tough clog in a 4 inch pipe without disturbing it much. I did have good luck cutting slowly through some shrub roots with a Ridgid T209 2 inch spiral saw cutter attachment I bought separately, I am still waiting for some other larger tools I bought to arrive before making another attempt at attacking a different slow main drain line. Kind of a bummer that none of the cutter tools are available with prime shipping – so plan ahead. As far as the quirky goes, the K-400 seems to have a self-protection mechanism to prevent it from twisting up the cable if the tool digs into something. At least in my case the mechanism was the drive belt that is loosely looped around the plastic drum slides off the back. This happened to me half a dozen times over the course of an hour’s work. The saving grace is that it only takes 10 seconds to slide back on. I generously gave the K-400 a 4-star rating specifically in regard to my occasional use as a home owner, with the explicit understanding that additional accessory tools are required to really make it a solid stand in for calling a plumber. With the exception of the auto-feed mechanism, the rest of the unit seems solid enough that it should help keep the plumber away for a good long time. However, if I were a professional looking for a tool to use every day, I would say the auto feed and belt drive would be a deal breaker as they seem designed more toward keeping an amateur from speeding into trouble than actually speeding the job along.

I looked at a lot of drain cleaners, and this seems to be one of the best values. It is a well built unit that will deal with most home drain line clogs for a reasonable price. I have a tree root problem that this machine takes care of easily. The heavy duty rental units work too, but I hate having to run back and forth, and clogs usually occur after the local store is closed. Much rather have the machine on hand. Most units with similar specs and quality sell for twice this price. There are cheaper units out there that sell for half as much, but they are flimsy toys in comparison. This seems to have a good balance between quality and price.

Great machine just receive it and used it 1/2 inch snake really helps to clean it up between 3 to 4 inch sewer line especially when there's no cleanup and when it have to remove the toilet. It's thick and strong and powerful the new 400 series improved machine itself much better than 380 series. The new design of drum and the belt and the motor is much better and improved does not slipped up and everything is pure solid. The only negative thing it should come with the new modern Auto feeder as it advertised model number 52343 but it came in the old version mode 26773 Overall good product
