Lightweight, durable, large top opening, easy to clean, easy open top with your foot, quietly closes, looks sleek and holds the bag in place. These were all things I was looking for when I replaced my wooden box style trash can. I shopped for a while before I came across this particular one. Im very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for those same qualities in a kitchen trash can.

Great quality trash can. I purchased this to keep my daughter’s cats out of the trash. Her new kittens love pulling trash out and scatter it all around the house. NOT FUN! The lid on this can quietly and smoothly opens and closes securely. The kittens cannot open it. They have tried! The built in foot pedal is very useful when you have full hands. The slim design saves room in tight spaces and an average 13 gallon trash bag fits perfectly. The lid can be easily removed when you need to empty the trash. This is made well and can be washed out for cleaning if need be. I highly recommend using this in your kitchen.

It's nice but not as sturdy as I wanted. It is a larger one than I had so that's good. We'll see how long it lasts.

Well built, taller than my last, so 13 gallon plastic liner holds a lot. Doesn't close with bags I use. Off by an inch or two so I put something on top for a few seconds to weigh top down. No biggie.

Nice. But often sticks and then you have to open it with your hands. That defeats the purpose of ordering the step open feature!

Obviously not the fanciest or sleek stainless steel trash can, but for the price of a fancy one, I was able to order two of these and having a the lid was a MUST. It’s a trash can at the end of the day, and works perfectly for what I need it to!

I thought that that Glad would know how to make trash cans after this many years of doing it, but apparently not. There are a surprising number of issues with such a simple thing. Do not buy this one. CONS: *The lid hangs on the can sometimes stopping the lid from opening with the peddle so you have to open it by hand anyway. *The bit of plastic that the rod pushes on the open the lid flexes alarmingly every time the lid is opens making me question how long it will hold up. *The bottom of the trash can does not have any rubber or anything and the trashcan is very light and top heavy so it slides across the floor whenever you try to use the foot peddle. *The lid will not work if the trash can is up against anything, so that combined with the sliding around is a problem. *The lid only opens about half way with the foot peddle PROS: *Plastic quality seems decent *The price is reasonable I fixed some of the issues by putting grip tape on the bottom and weighting down the trashcan with a rock. I also put a screw into the plastic bit that the foot peddle pushes on so the rod does not flop around as much making it lift the lid all of the way, but that stopped the lid form closing automatically, so I fixed that by added a spring. After doing that it is mostly usable, but the lid still hangs on the can sometimes. Also I think that I will need to come up with a way to reinforce the plastic bit that opens the lid, it flexes a lot and I do not expect it to hold up for all that long. I really do not recommend this trash can, it barely even works, so basically any other would be better then this. And I am very disappointed with Glad, I never imagined that they would have forgotten how to make trashcans but apparently they have.

The bin has been successful In keeping the odour out. We clear the bin about every 2 days. Just note that there is no soft closing. Not a feature that is advertised anyway.

Unfortunately, the foot pedal mechanism failed after just 3 days of use.

Good capacity

Me dolió un poco el codo el precio, aunque no es de los más caros; pero no se ve nada mal, tampoco elegante; utilitario pero bien y mágicamente mata los olores. Tiene buena capacidad, 50 litros y las bolsas de la misma marca de ese volumen son más baratas y fáciles de comprar. No me arrepentí de la compra.

Great garbage can for the kitchen. Large, easy to replace the bag, keeps smells in. The only downside is if you step to open and it opens all the way it does not close on its own, which isn't too big a deal
