Great for my 11 year old!
Simple and effective design. Love the rounded edge and small finger guard for my 11 year old daughter as we learn whittling together! She’s able to get after it for more than a hour, as the wood handle offers better grip than my plastic one….. Great Father-Daughter time with reduced risk of injury! Love it!

It's a good start
Really nicely made and has a nice curve at the tip that makes it less scary for handing over to your tween. Said tween has taken to carving "shivs". It seems to work well. Apparently they are concerned about a possible vampire insurgency.

Good knife for kids
A good knife for children. Offers a smaller handle comfortable to hold. The blade and handle is smaller allowing better control for kids. The guard is a nice addition for safety. I did notice the knife wasn't as sharp as my other beavercraft knifes but gets the job done especially with some stopping. Seeing as it is a knife for kids I would prefer a set of cut resistant gloves as extra safety measure. Fortunately I do have some. That being said the knife seems pretty nice for a kids first carving knife. And would make a good Christmas gift.
