More Fun Than Jewels
I'm using these brilliant pinwheel spinners to decorate a former garden bed next to the house, where I can't water because of termites. The way they sparkle and change color in the sunlight is more fun than jewels, so I ordered a second set and have put them outside all over the place. Happily the plastic shafts are unlikely to be eaten by termites, and they look well made and sturdy. They'll be getting Arizona sun all day all year, so I'm glad the reviews on durability are good. * UPDATE #1: After a week, the plastic shafts on two of my pinwheels mysteriously bent 30 degrees in the middle and could not be straightened out, staying as hard as rocks even in hot water (I didn't try a hair dryer). All the others have remained fine and in place despite several days of gusty wind. Although the vendor had no replacement shafts available for purchase, they graciously located some extras and sent them to me promptly. * UPDATE #2: I found a super way to secure the pinwheel spinners in the ground, with 12" galvanized wire stakes, package of 12 for $5.63 and free shipping from an Amazon vendor. The 1/8" diameter stakes are easily hammered into hard soil, and the pinwheel shafts fit over the stakes. So much easier than trying to force the shafts into the soil. UPDATE #3: After nearly a year, the some of the little stops in front of the wheels wear down and the wheels can fly off in a high wind. Quick way to fix this problem: cut a 1/2" square of thin, stiff plastic, poke a hole in the middle, cut a slit from one edge of the square to the hole, and slip it around where the original stop was.

These are pretty little pinwheels
These are pretty little pinwheels, a bit more durable than what I have found in brick and mortar stores. I use these for my vegetable gardens as a critter deterrent, therefore they are exposed to wind, rain, what have you. I only gave four stars do to pricing. I feel as though they could be had for less, especially since I consider this a bulk purchase. They are still really lovely.

Could be better with longer stems
I have had these a while now and they have held up really well. Very reflective and somewhat colorful. I put one out near the street and it was snatched within a couple days. They don't deter anything or if they do, not for long. The stem is a plastic straw basically. It is a little flimsy and way too short. Consider the fact that you need to stick the stem in the ground at least 6 inches. I also wish that the stem was flat or had a flat portion to prevent the pinwheel from pivoting in the wind. You may want them pivoting in the wind for your purposes but I wanted the pinwheel facing a particular direction. They might be worth a dollar apiece, but you have to figure shipping and the convenience of shopping at Amazon is worth something.Update 8/29/2018Mine lasted for about a year and I had to make repairs to get them to last that long. The nub at the end wears out and the pinwheel flies off. I attached a zip tie in place of the nub. The mylar loses its sheen over time.I won't be repurchasing for what they are asking now.

Perfect once boiled so they spin!
These are so pretty but something is wrong with the packaging. It’s affecting how they spin. Most of all of my pinwheels I received didn’t spin correctly. After close observations my husband and I figured out after boiling them for less than 30 seconds they returned to their correct shape and spin exactly as they should. They do lose a bit of their color in this process but it works. I use these to protect plants and flowers every spring from little critters. I reached out to them and they quickly responded and sent me a few new ones to replace the couple that didn’t spin at all. Awesome customer service!Thank you

GREAT!!!
(despite all the great reviews). Well they are right ! I will be looking for other uses than why I bought them. I had made some last year for the garden. I grow vegetables year round and loss about 20% to squirrels. I took a chance on these even with good reviews... I was surprised . Made very good and sparkly. Large size works for me or I should say the squirrels. Spins very easy. Pinwheels works for pest in the garden. Best for squirrels , the spinning get there attention but the sound of the spinning get's under there skin. They think it's birds flapping there wings coming after them. Works great. Looks great. I can see that these will last a long time, well built. And when some of the color in the garden is gone the pinwheels are still there.

Dead on Arrival- broken pinwheels (save your money)
These pinwheels, while brightly colored and pretty, were very poorly made and cheap quality. Three of the eight were broken and the others were bent or loosely connected. I guess in this case you get what you pay for. Save your money and purchase 8 sheets of Mylar (or 16 if you want double points), cut in 7 x 7 (or any size) square, find the center of the paper, cut almost to the center at each corner, fold into a pinwheel and secure it with a extra long brad or push pin. Stick it through a large sturdy straw and you will have a fun 15 minute craft of better quality than this product. There's several DIY instructions on the internet.

Great spinners
I put these in my garden to detract the critters from mowing down my flowers. First off I love the color of these. I love looking out and watching them spin with my flowers. I get many compliments on them. Even had a whole set stolen too people love them so much! LOLThey keep some of the critters out but not all of them. I still have one pest that digs up any fresh bulbs I plant.I would buy these again and again. Love them. This choice of colors are fantastic too. One other note is that these do not look or feel like cheap spinners. They have a nice stable "straw" that is thick and sticks well in the ground. So far I've had them out for almost two months now and they've not faded in color at all.

Beautiful Pinwheels! Well constructued and gorgeous!
Absolutely gorgeous pinwheels. These are well constructed, and turn easily in even a slight breeze. The stakes are sturdy, and the actual pinwheel part is well affixed to the stick. The colors are as pictured, and very beautiful in person. We will be using these are decorations/party favours for a birthday party, and plan to decorate our garden with any of the leftovers. Highly recommended purchase!

Great buy!
I bought these last fall and attached them to my balcony rail to scare the pigeons. They're gorgeous in the sun, and ended up out there all winter (Canadian winter) and survived very nicely. None broke. I did lose one but only because it went over the balcony and down into the backyard, never to be seen again! Very sturdy, a good buy.
