I bought this converter with some hesitation, since many reviews claim it doesn’t work with certain Cross models, especially the Classic Century. In my case, I tested it with a vintage Cross fountain pen (14kt gold filled, made in USA), and it worked flawlessly: It fits securely No leaks at all Fills properly Ink flow is consistent from the start It’s true that Cross has used different filling systems over the years (push-in converters, older designs, etc.), which creates a lot of confusion. But in practice, compatibility can vary depending on the specific version of the pen. In my experience: It works perfectly with a classic Cross pen with a 14k nib, no modifications needed. Recommendation If you have a modern Cross, it should work without any issues. If you have a vintage one, it’s still worth trying — it might work better than expected. Tip Make sure it goes in with a bit of resistance and doesn’t feel loose. If it sits firmly, you’re good to go. Conclusion A lot of the negative reviews seem to come from confusion between models or specific incompatibilities, but in my case, this was a solid purchase that works exactly as intended.

If you have a Cross fountain pen, you need it. The others don't work.

It fit perfectly but it’s difficult to fill all the way without getting a bunch of air in with the ink. I go slowly but after about six tries I finally got enough ink to use it.

Great price great product not even cross has them

Arrived completely disassembled, utterly unusable. Touched it and it literally fell apart. Purchased new from the Cross store at Amazon. Tried contacting Cross and Cross's reply was "sucks to be you, should've purchased it direct from us". Won't be buying any more Cross products in future with this poor quality and that attitude. Cross lost long term and bulk buy customer.

I go back far enough that I can remember when fountain pens were filled from an ink bottle and you didn't have cartridges to worry about. I also remember when the cartridge pens came out and everybody thought they were all the rage but the people who were happiest were the companies that made the cartridges because they are the ones that made all the money. Now you cannot buy a fountain pen but isn't a cartridge pen unless you buy a converter, and I have to tell you that this converter for a Cross pen is really a great Appliance. It's a wonderful addition to this fountain pen but also you know that you're not going to have to constantly be worrying about running out of ink when you are writing. It is so economical and really saves a pile of money.
