Does the job
Bought this to replace the power supply of a european ceiling light (10 x 10W halogen bulbs).Works perfectly!I opened it up to see if there was any need to attach a safety ground (back plate is made out of metal) but everything is nicely insulated inside so you can be safe. For the price I would recommend it with no hesitation.Note: I use it as a fixed output, no dimmer.

Great Quality
Had some issues at first, but seller informed that a current draw it is required for it function, and true enough the contact was bad between transformer and rail once that was fixed everything worked perfectly.

So far so good. One will have to splice in wiring to connectors, but rather easy. No outlet plug on the 120V side.Works well with my slider dimmer. My lamp has two halogen bulbs about 80 watts total.

This transformer works but a word of caution. You must use a "Electronic Low Voltage" Dimmer switch (such as Lutron SELVB) if you want the full intensity of the lights and Linear light intensity from the dimmer knob or slide. If you use a conventional 120V low cost dimmer the slider/knob will not provide linear light intensity and the lights will not be as bright with a 120V conventional dimmer switch. The literature provided in the packing indicates any conventional dimmer will work. The low voltage dimmers are expensive ($40 to $70 dollars). Hope this helps..... I spent a lot of time trying different things and only the ELV dimmers work well.

Very nice unit, works perfectly
I needed to replace a similar transformer that failed because it was actually too low in wattage for the light fixture it came in. This unit has all the features for protection and cutoff and a higher rated output level. It works perfectly so far.
