The media could not be loaded. This popcorn machine has its pros and cons. First, I must say that I was worried about the build quality as I read many reviews that stated that the machine cracks easily or was received cracked. Thankfully mine arrived packaged well and in great shape! It is plastic, so I can see how it can crack, but so far it is in great shape. If it does crack in the future I will update my review. Now for the pros and cons:Pros:- The machine is compact and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It can easily be kept on a kitchen counter which is nice.- It comes with a plastic tray to catch the popcorn which makes removing the popcorn very easy and helps to keep the machine clean which I really like.-The kettle is stainless steel and is not coated with teflon that can scrap off over time like many of the other similar machines that I researched. This was a big concern as scraped teflon coating is a known carcinogen and a lot of the reviews I read for those with teflon coated kettles listed this problem as an issue. Thankfully I do not have to worry about that with this machine since it is not coated with teflon.-Although the “warming light” really doesn’t warm the popcorn, I do like that it has a light that lights up the machine. Many other similar size machines do not come with lights at all.Cons:-While the plastic housing of the machine is simple enough to clean with a damp cloth or paper towel the kettle itself does not come apart and it is a little tricky to clean. Especially because you have to take great care not to submerge it in water.-Removing and installing the kettle can be a little tricky to do. It has to be lined up just right and while it is possible, I feel it could be a lot easier than it is.-I’ve noticed a few unpopped kernels that fly out while popping. Not a huge deal, I think some can be expected with these types of kettle poppers. Overall most of the popcorn does pop though.-This machine is small and only makes enough popcorn for one or two people. For me it’s fine since I’m the only one in my household that eats it, but not so ideal for more than two people.-Not a big deal, but it did not come with the popcorn bags as advertised.Overall I do like the aesthetics of the popcorn machine, it looks great in my movie room! I do wish the kettle were easier to clean though. But with that said, the machine makes great popcorn and I am for the most part happy with it.I bought this machine along with everything needed to make authentic movie theater popcorn and it turned out really good!2 tbsps. of Butter Flavored Coconut popping oil.1/2 teaspoon Of Flavacol Popcorn Salt1/3 cup of Popcorn KernelsWhen finished I top it off with the buttery popcorn topping to taste.All can be purchased from Amazon! Love the construction of this popcorn maker. Handles on the outside no burning fingers to tip. We enjoy the popcorn we make in this unit.

After getting an Amazon gift card for my birthday a few months ago, I decided to indulge my long time wish for a "real" popcorn machine. I had a bartending job in my early 20s at one of those restaurant/movie theater combos - one of my duties was making the popcorn. I got my perfect salt/butter ratio down to a science and also learned that you simply cannot duplicate the popcorn from a "real" machine using one of the cheaper air/shaker/oil appliances at home - and microwave popcorn is terrible AND terrible for you. We also entertain at home quite a bit so I thought it'd be cool to have this machine sitting out with other snacks at times. As usual, I do a bunch of reviewing of reviews before deciding on this one. I was a bit concerned after reading some experiences with loose/falling screws - but I have put this machine more than a handful of times now and I've had no issues. That said - it was hard to gauge how big or small this was (and how much I could pop at once) beforehand. I do wish I'd opted for something that could produce more popcorn at once - but considering my lack of storage space this was for the best. The cleanup is a pain in the behind, but I expected that when I bought it and certainly on a smaller scale than the big traditional movie theater machine. One thing to be careful of - when you're putting it down or away - it is best not to slide it back. Two of the rubber feet popped off when I slid it back to store it. It will make it sit unevenly on the counter so make sure you recover them! Also, I highly recommend using cocunut oil - it really puts the flavor over the top. Overall - very happy with my purchase. Also - everyone I've made popcorn for raves about how delicious it is. Some of that is due to ingredients obviously, but the machine does most of the work.
