We use quite a lot of tea lights they are great at Christmas, Easter, Halloween and countless other occasions, traditional tea lights also help to create a relaxing atmosphere, so when I was offered these LED versions free of charge to test I was curious to see if they could replace a real flame.They arrived in a plain white box. Inside were the bonus rose petals in four bundles, they were a bit of a pain to separate but are stronger than they look and well worth the effort.I was quite impressed with the look of these lights, they feel well made and look realistic, unlike most of the cheaper versions.The real test of these lights is when you flip the little slide switch on, which is located underneath. The version we ordered was the amber colour which, we think offers the most realistic light without been too obtrusive.When lit these are slightly brighter than expected and give a realistic flicker, I have to admit I was both surprised and impressed.These lights have a useful timer, a feature that none of the cheaper ones seem to have. The lights work for about 6 hours then switch off for 18, this cycle is repeated until you switch off the light. I have tested this feature and it works well.The seller claims a battery life of 60 hours + that’s about two weeks if its permanently left on, (although I have read that they can last much longer). You can buy replacement batteries fairly cheaply I found a well known brand on Amazon that was 10 for £1.75 including delivery.These don't slot into the purpose made tea light holders properly, however I don’t think they were ever intended for them, besides they look great as stand alone lights.These are some the best looking and realistic ones I’ve seen, they are well made and should last years. Although you might find them expensive to run on a daily basis they are perfect for special or seasonal occasions or even just to help you relax. They are safer and more convenient than traditional tea lights and in my opinion are head and shoulders above the cheaper ones on the market.If I was to change anything it would be to have a switch so I could occasionally override the timer so the lights would stay on, because sometimes 6 hours may not be long enough.
