AmazonBasics 4 Person Dome Tent

I normally use name brand backpacking gear, but bought this for a “one-time” use at the last minute before a short trip with the grandkids. I was pleasantly surprised with it. Shortly after arriving at our site it started to rain and this tent set up quickly and didn’t leak. It has plenty of room for 4 (two adults and two kids). It doesn’t have any vestibule, so boots and backpacks need to stay outside under another cover, or in the tent. There’s only one door, so midnight trips out can be disruptive. The entire top 3/4 of the tent is mesh. So even with the rain fly on it breathes well. Since I only used it once I can’t speak to the durability of the poles. The bungee cord trough the poles seems “meh”, but worked fine for its first trip. Best of all was the price. I had no problem spending the money for this tent that was the right size, quality, and weight.

I have zero complaints about this tent. It spacious and appears to be made well. I’ve used it in Acadia with the family as well ass just normal camping. It withstood some high winds and rain without any issues. It’s super simple to put together, one person can do it but it’s easier with 2. Never noticed any leaks, but it does collect condensation. I recommend it.

Quality is good. Only used in summer. Prevent water leakage. But size is very small. For 3 people (2 adult 1 kid) it is not sufficient . Inside area is smaller and also height in the sides are not much.

So spacious and comfortable, so enjoyed camping with my boys in it. We had a queen and twin air mattress and still had a lot of space between us. Could fit 2 queens if you wanted! The price was so worth it. Easy set up once we figured it out lol.

Great tent, easy to put together and set up, made with great quality materials and seems like it will last some time. The zippers work great and did not get stuck at all during its weekend use. The windows in the tent allow for great ventilation and can close for privacy if needed. The tent is fairly big and definitely can hold the eight people that it says it can hold. However, that is if they are all using sleeping bags and not using air mattresses which we do. It’s very lightweight and typical design of a tent, but works well.

Got this to go camping, but haven’t been able to camp yet. We set it up in the living room to see how easy it is to set up. It was pretty easy! It’s sturdy, light weight, and our cat loved it. We kept it up in the living room for her for about a week. 😂

Needed a new tent for weekend camping trip. This looked good for the price. Set up beforehand and this was your normal summer tent with rain fly. Easy setup and take down. The door is hard to zip without catching the fabric. First night was nice weather but used rain fly anyway. Ventilation was decent. Rained during the day while we were away from camp. Even with two windows open, the inside stayed dry. Second night, a thunderstorm came through at 4am. Water everywhere outside the tent but no inside leaks anywhere. Floor of the tent felt like a water bed but kept the water out. Was impressed by this tent. Taking out for 10 day trip and will report more after.

Look, decent tent for the cost. Two things make this not usable for me. (1) the rainfly needs one more tie down on two sides to keep it tight instead the rainfly slaps the tent at night waking me up. (2) the door zipper only has one zipper so you have to open bottom to top which is a problem when there is water on the outside.
