Braun Sensian 7, BNT400

Peace of mind for restless little ones — worth every penny! With two young children (a baby and a toddler who hates anything near their ears), this Braun Sensian 7 thermometer has been a total game-changer. I’ve tried a few cheaper thermometers over the years, but none have come close to this one in terms of accuracy and ease of use. The non-contact option is a lifesaver when the baby is asleep — it’s possible to check their temperature without waking them up. The Age Precision feature is surprisingly helpful; it makes interpreting temperature much easier since “normal” can vary depending on age. Setting the age range and seeing the colour-coded display (green, yellow, red) makes it simple to know whether to worry, even in the middle of the night when half-asleep. It also doubles as a food or bath thermometer, which I didn’t expect to use much but actually do — especially for bottles and bath water. The readings are quick (literally a second or two), consistent, and clear even in dim light thanks to the backlit screen. The only minor downside is that it’s a bit bulkier than expected, but that’s a small trade-off for the reliability. Accurate readings are much more important than a slim design. If you’re looking for something fast, accurate, and child-friendly, this is absolutely worth it. I was ready to package this back up and return it as it simply showed "ERR" on the screen when switched on. After a quick google other people had this issue and all said within 5 minutes then it worked fine with no ongoing issue.... So a couple pf minutes later and it works perfectly with no issues. But weird but would recommend it as its an excellent bit of kit.

The product on its own is working fine, I like the option of measuring the temp of the liquid but somehow I feel like the temperature isn’t always accurate (as my baby would have a low grade fever and thous would not pick it up, obviously because if your body cools down through the sweat and skin) anyway, it works For the night measures when I don’t want to wake him up. The sound can be turned off unlike on other ones

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. & save yourself a lot of hassle and stress. Gave wildly inaccurate falsely high readings despite us following the instructions exactly. Cost our disabled, non verbal child a week off school, an unnecessary trip to the doctors, a lot of anxiety and several days trapped at home believing my child was ill with a fever when he wasn't. Eventually borrowed a near identical thermometer (older version, not bought from Amazon) from a friend and took readings with the two thermometers seconds apart which proved what we'd started to suspect. See photos. The product being reviewed is the one on the left. Also used a third underarm thermometer which gave the same reading as my friend's so proof that her one was accurate and our one was faulty. Do not buy this product.

Great thermometer, used for the whole family. Seems pretty accurate. Good quality, easy to use (if you remember to remove the lens cap!). Super fast, and easy to read. Good value

Versatile, does what it says on the packet and runs on decent batteries, not silly, fiddly button cells.

I love the features of this thermometer. It is super quick, you get a reading in 1 second, and super easy to use, and like other Braun models, it alerts you of fever for different age ranges so you don’t have to remember what they were for each age. Also love that you can measure liquids with it, including bath water, formula, food etc! However what is a bit questionable is the accuracy. I compared the readings to other thermometers, and the Braun is always a bit lower than the others (even when compared to another infrared no touch thermometer). As you can see, there is a 0.4 difference which seems like quite a bit in my opinion (36.97, so essentially 37 in the digital and 36.6 in the Braun). When tried a second time on another adult, the digital showed 37.0, a different infrared one showed 36.9, and the Braun showed 36.7. So I concluded from those two measurements that the Braun seems to show slightly lower readings. I don’t mind a difference of 0.1, like in the other one, that sounds very reasonable and accurate, but consistently showing 0.3 and 0.4 less than other thermometers is a bit too inaccurate for me. Especially when it comes to children, therefore I returned, since my main purpose was to use this on my baby (and in babies 0.4 is a huge difference). I have chosen to keep the other one from another brand that consistently showed only a 0.1 difference.

Is always showing 1°C more than normal, over 37°C. Tested against 4 different models. 36.1°C is 36.8°C on this. 37.0°C is 38.0 °C on this. This item is a bad joke.
