HP Elitebook 8470P 8460P 8440P 2760P 2570P 2540P 2170P Laptop Charger AC Adapter Power Supply Cord

I use it for a power supply for my HP 2560 docking station. It just plugs in, turns on all the lights, runs computer, and charges the battery. All without getting as hot as 35 watt adapter. It could be used as an adapter for the computer alone. That is to be expected because it is rated at 90 watts. It is not as pictured as mine had a 3 prong plug. I don't have the equipment to test the purity of the DC but it has an 18.6 vdc output. I gave it 4 stars because I do not know about it's longevity.

I was a touch apprehensive after reading all the reviews, but given the price and the age of my lap top, I figured it was worth the risk. As other reviewers have stated, the cord is shorter than the charger that comes from factory. My factory charger is 12' vs 8' for this version. I have been using for weeks with no issues. However, I use a s back up, so it does not get 24 hour / 365 day use. More like half that much useage. If I have issues, I will updat the review.

Typical generic power adapter which is slightly better quality than the hit and miss stuff you can by on ebay. In general it worked as expected and unlike other units I have purchased in the past this one does not get excessively hot, though it definitely does get warm. At the end of the day it works as expected, is generally better quality than what I have purchased in past and does not suffer for heat issues.

Even though this item is listed to be "Freqently purchased with" the HP VB041UT#ABA docking station it does not work with it. It will mostly likely work as a power supply for my laptop so I will keep it as a back-up. But do not purchase if you will be using it with the above listed docking station.

Well, as dog owners know, sometimes our bundles of fur can be a bit naughty. That's what happened at our house when my dog chewed the end off my computer power cord. I needed something pretty immediately to allow me to use the laptop and I didn't want to spend lots on the replacement. I found this one on Amazon and had it in hand in two days. It was very reasonably priced and it works perfectly with my HO Elitebook 8460. It is lightweight. The cord isn't super long, but it is plenty for typical usage needs.

I ordered this after I got to college and realized I'd left my laptop charger at home. It worked for me, but only for a little while. It did not last me a full semester, but was a good cheap option when I was in a pinch.

Seems to work...although it is not the one in the picture and it's not a Chicony.
