The handlebar works perfectly. It was simple to install following the instructional video posted by an Amazon member here.... My son loves it. The only ding to the product is the grip and the bar-end attachment. I can't seem to screw the grip on tight enough to keep it from rotating. So I ended up throwing the grip and the bar-end away. I got a set of SRAM foam grips and carbon mountain bike bar ends instead. I had cut (shorten) the foam grips to fit and wrap a thin layer of duct tape on the base metal hand bars in order for the regular bike grips and bar ends to fit over them. Other than that, the handlebar is awesome and works as advertised and is very solid.Edit - Be sure to use BLUE Lock-Tite on all the screws and the threads on the hand bars. The phone holder is cheap and falls off easily so I unscrewed the 1 screw and took it off. The handlebar looks much cleaner without it. My son loves the setup.

Got this assembly and the kickstand (separate order) & love it. I'm a old guy, 6' tall and 200lbs. I mastered the MINIPRO using just my knees. It's like skiing. But, it was tiring and gets uncomfortable. The handlebars are just the "cat's meow." Love them.But, once on, the auto upright feature won't compensate even with the extension completely retracted. Fortunately, I had also purchased the kickstand. Remember this is a mod to the original.As for install instructions, the only problem I had was trying to remember how I put on the original bar in order to get it off. Really simple but needed to fist bump it once the two screws came out. If one can't figure it out, probably shouldn't have the Mini-Segway in the first place.Update...terrific item...overcame issues with various venues (e.g. big box stores) who don't allow hover boards by placing handicap stickers on bumper and keep a copy of my doctor's letter in my wallet.Can now easily navigate curbs, rough spots etc. However, these conditions should not be crept over. Like any people mover device, it has a learning curve. Remember when you learned to ride a bike or skate? Except this is much easier. Love it as I move around big box stores, saves my hips, legs and feet. Remember----I'm an old guy.

I just can not get comfortable going over obstacles with the Segway Mini. Uneven concrete, potholes, driveways, just freaked me out, even though I never fell. I thought this handlebar would make me feel more secure - and it does. I just installed it (see second paragraph) today and I absolutely love it. I can zoom around, over cracks in the road, up those two inch driveways and very rough asphalt. I will be using this much more now. It is just like a full-size Segway!A couple negatives - 1. No instructions. Really? I thought they were missing but according to other reviews, that is the practice. So I faked it. It went together quite easily (still not sure I did the horizontal bars correctly) and it works. And yes folks, I have a few screws and washers left over! I hope they are spares because I have absolutely no idea where they go. 2. The handlebar takes the Segway off balance. It no longer stands by itself, but not a big deal to me. Yes, I recalibrated with the app and adjusted balance all the way negative and it still creeps forward if left unattended. If not for those things, Five Stars.Update: I now own two of these (two segways) and I have changed my rating to 3 stars. They are just not engineered very well. I broke one handle (transporting, not riding) and though they were nice enough to send another, I could not get the broken piece unthreaded so I had to jimmy a solution. The screws that hold the shaft together at bottom and middle only have a couple of threads to hold on so they easily strip and come loose. The two screws that hold the shaft to the Segway are under so much pressure that they come loose and the bar veers to left or right. I have used alot of Loctite on the screws.Anyway, its not a good Segway without the handlebar so I am sticking with it. I just wish it was designed a bit better.

Nice and enjoyable toy but the ground clearance need to be higher a little bit to avoid hitting some rocks or gravel

Simple to install! Just loosen the screw from the knee bracket at the red base part. Just wiggle it side to side and back and forth a little. Be patient it will come loose with out using a crowbar!One suggestion would be a LED light on top of the handle bars for increased visibility. Double AA batteries in the hand grip!

It is very well made and installed easily. I would have given it 5 stars if it was priced more reasonably. I have two Segway and my wife wanted to hold onto something. I will wait till they are under 75.00 to buy one for myself.

The handlebar was easy to install but the screws strip out easily. I wish the latch to release the bar was as easy as the original knee bar.

The locking mechanism was faulty- it did not lock the bar when adjusted to a higher height. The holes for the screws are a bit off and needs a bit of force to line them up.
