2013 acoustic project from singer/songwriters Anne-Marie Helder and Jonathan Edwards, both members of Panic Room. Sleeping Pills & Lullabies is a beautiful and intimate collection of songs. Largely based around grand piano and acoustic guitar, the stripped back arrangements allow Anne-Marie's wonderfully rich and versatile voice to take centre stage. Touches of rhodes, organ, samples and rhythm loops add some grit to the mix, while harp and autoharp also broaden the palette of sound. This eclectic collection of instruments makes for a unique and fresh sound, with a strange dark quirkiness at times reminiscent of a more folky Bat for Lashes. The strong melodies and arrangements will appeal across a wide range of tastes from Progressive to contemporary Folk. Firefly.
