Not an EXOTAC
The good is it does work ok and is 1/5th the price of an EXOTAC Nano. The Bad, The striker is epoxied in crooked, and looking at the epoxy it may not last. The threads on the main body are poor and is only held together with about 1 full turn. The rod is a harder compound than the EXOTAC so it does not put out the same hot sparks, it is more like a light my fire type rod. Also the threads on the rod are different than the EXOTAC so it cannot be replaced with their replacement. Not bad for the money, but don't bet your life on it.

Not worth it. Keep looking.
Not worth the wait or the $4. The ferro rod has come loose and does not throw a spark as well as others I have purchased. If you’re looking for a good firestarter, this is not it.Also the instructions state that it has a lifetime warranty and that it’s made in the USA. It shipped from China. Not an Exotac, like the instructions claim.

Very small.
These will work in a pinch. The aluminum is a nice container. The small size makes it harder to use then the Bear Grylls striker. The ferrocerium rod is threaded on one end and screws into the handle. It comes loose easily. The rod does not spark as readily as some other rods do. The small size makes it very easy to pack into the outdoors but more difficult to use. I would like it more if it were the size of a small flashlight that uses one AA battery.

Not even worth the price
I realize this was an inexpensive purchase, but it fell apart the first time I tried it. And the threads stripped out when I Screwed it back together.

Don’t order this one! Waste of money.
Light a match to a $5 bill and save yourself the time. It fits together as shown but when you take it apart to use it, the handle doesn’t fit on the center section because the opposite side is too big.

only if youre desperate. makes an ok stocking stuffer
Little more of a novelty than a survival tool. I would have to really be in a pinch to use this. Its a bit difficult to get a spark large enough due to the small surface area. The striking area is maybe 3/4 in. The string is just a loosely tied shoelace end. Its very light and can squeak a little when unscrewing it.

Nice and compact, good to add to the camping gear
It throws a pretty good spark. Haven't tried starting a fire in anything less than perfect conditions, but it seems like it will get the job done when needed. Will add it into the bag with at least one other source of fire to have one in case the other doesn't work when the time comes.

shipping cost was crazy expensive and the product was glued with cheap epoxy glue at the place where the striker is connected.i suggest you buy the real thing.
