Good for TRUE beginners, quality is shoddy but fair for price
I purchased this late MAY 2011.PROS:- CHEAP. Cheapest set I've seen anywhere. AWESOME for REAL beginners (people who have never swung a club at all).- Irons seem to have a bigger face and thus better for beginners.- THE SET COMES WITH A DRIVER, 3 WOOD, PW, 6-9irons. The description is inconsistent and suggests there is no driver. This is incorrect, there is a driver (albeit steel shafted and not very good). AND it comes with the bag which is pretty nice.NOTE - to buy a bag on it's own of equal quality at just a local Walmart, it will cost you about $30; so for a set to come w/ a driver, irons, and a bag for $99, it is an EXCELLENT deal for beginners.CONS:- The grip is thin/small. As in if you have big hands it will feel very uncomfortable. I'm a 24 year old guy at 5'9" and my hands feel uncomfortable because the grip on the shaft is not thick enough. I used my friend's Callaway irons and the grip is significantly thicker and feels much better. (The length is fine for me)- One grip was misaligned. If you follow the alignment markers on the 9 iron grip, it is actually a few inches off center. This can be easily adjusted for, but I guess you get what you pay for.- 3Wood head snapped off after about 20 shots. NOTE - this was not due to MY fault, it was a manufacturing quality issue - my friend who golfs consistently in the 80's was using it at the driving range and it snapped off. This means the club was not being chunked into the ground or swung like a baseball bat into the ground.HOWEVER, being a TRUE beginner, you probably will have no use for the 3wood.. You should be working on your form at the range and probably working the irons. IF you're planning on hitting the GOLF COURSE off the bat, I would recommend you getting a USED set of irons/drivers (Callaway, Taylormade, etc)CONCLUSION:If this is going to be your very first set and you have not hit a golf ball before or cannot hit a ball over 25 yards, then this is DEFINITELY a good deal for you. If you already can knock a ball 100+ yards and are looking for a set to actually go to the golf course with, then go for a better set.

Decent set - Depends on frequency of play
Obviously, if you are looking at these clubs then two things are true. One: you have not been golfing long or never before. Two: you don't think 600-1K on clubs is a good investment because you're so new (or not good).I purchased these clubs a few years ago when I was only playing 2-3 times a season. They are not a bad set but if you know anything about golf, you'll know a set with a bag for this cheap is like seeing a brand new car for $2,000 - You're not getting a deal, you're getting what you pay for.As I began playing more and more, the faces of the irons began to wear a bit but the real dilemma is once you hit a certain level of improvement, a set of clubs like this will begin to hold you back and exacerbate your swing flaws. As you get better, and more confident, a more expensive set of clubs will be needed to give you the boost you need to get past your minor flaws and begin to learn shot shaping and take on a more advanced approach to the game. If you plan on becoming a serious golfer (not talking score, but frequency of play), then it would serve you better to take some short lessons and understand how to strike the ball well, and purchase a nicer set. If you are truly brand new, these clubs will be great because it is everything you need. I am not bashing these clubs by any means, think of these like a first car at 16, not something that you want to keep forever.

Good set for a beginner
Very good golf club set for a beginner. I have been in the range like 10 times in the last 3 weeks. Clubs are holding on just fine. You can obviously tell these are not the best quality, but for a beginner like me, I think they're just what I need. Golf bag is also nice. It has trouble standing though, you have to use the aid it comes with. Reason why I don't give it a 5 star is because the bag cover came with a couple of small perforations. I reached out to the seller, and they sent one in worst condition than the one with the holes I originally got.

For my first set, no complaints!
I must start out by saying I am a beginner, and this is my first set of clubs. Even with that, I obviously know these are not nearly TOP OF THE LINE clubs. (Of course, since one can purchace a single driver that costs 3x what this entire set costs, including bag). But I have no complaints. I know that is not exactly a glowing review, but for what i paid, they are decent clubs. So far, i have a nine hole round with them, but mostly I've used them on the driving range. The set contained:1-driver: - Has a decent feel, however I've noticed that the thread in the grip is already starting to hang off a little. That notwithsatnding, I get pretty good distance. (.But I recently purchased a TaylorMade driver and I can defintely feel the difference.)1 Hybrid: - Again, a decent club feels good swinging on the rangeIrons (6,7,8,9) - They get good loft. decent weight. Sturdy.Pitching Wedge - Haven't used this one much yet.Putter - - Would love to be able to blame the putter for my triple bogeys, but I can't :) Gets the job done. The bag is nice and sturdy. Pockets are not very deep, and has trouble standing upright without the stand. (so use the stand :) )Overall, a good set, but I would suggest you spend the extra 49 bucks and get the set with the titanium clubs. But this one will do me well untill i can purchase better clubs and a good bag graduallyBottom line. It's a $100 dollar set, and it is very serviceable. It is what it is, but of course eventually you will want a better set.

Great starter set had it now for 2 seasons this will be my third. Hybrid is awesome to use. The only thing i replaced was the driver, sounded like a tin can when you made contact with the ball. Over all recommended for the money. I paid $180 at the time.
