The perfect chocolate chip

AND, the price was excellent. However, they were older and has chocolate bloom on them. For cooking and baking, they are still good, but the appearance is bad and the taste along is impaired. AMAZON should note that these are aged.

At one time the large packages could be purchased through Sams but they quit carrying them so I decided to purchase 12, 10 oz. packages through Amazon. They were delivered via UPS on a VERY hot day when I was gone. When I opened the package all the chocolates had melted into a gooey mess! There was no cold paks to keep them cold...they just mailed them as is. I then called Amazon on this and they apologized that the packing department did not consider what happens to chocolates when mailed in very hot weather!! I was given a credit on my purchase and told I could do whatever I wanted with the melted chocolates. I did put them all in the freezer and now when I take them out, they need to be broken into small pieces. I would recommend that Amazon either refuse to mail perishables like this in the summer or provide packing that will keep them cold! In Amazon's favor I can say they were good about making good on this for me.

I've loved them for 10 years, and that has not changed. Everyone thinks I have some special chocolate chip cookie recipe, but it's just these chips. Also makes amazing chocolate for flourless chocolate cakes.

I'm a big fan of Dark Chocolate over milk chocolate and we only use dark chocolate chips when we make chocolate chip cookies. We prefer to use GHIRARDELLI chips becasue the chips themselves (besides taking good) tend to stay soft even when the cookie has cooled. When refrigerated, the chip gets firmer as you would expect and when warmed up in the toaster oven the chips get nice and gooey again!
