Does a lot for the money
I wasn't sure (from reading reviews of similar USB-C "break-out-boxes") whether it would possibly have issues driving multiple interfaces at the same time and drawing power from the laptop. I am glad to report that it seemed fine driving HDMI, NIC (RJ-45) and a USB flash drive at the same time (just drawing power from the laptop). I didn't notice a great deal of heat doing this. When you connect power into the PD (Power Delivery), so as to charge the laptop and provide more power to the adaptor, you do notice the device becoming much warmer. With it having 2xUSB3 and 2xUSB2 I thought it was a perfect adaptor to give me the equivalent of a docking station for slow KBD+mouse and fast flash/disc drives (and physical network. My reason for knocking off a star is that I had some initial problem inserting connectors - It seemed that there was some alignment issue between all of the connectors and the metal case. Once I had given a little force the connectors all aligned correctly. The problem on my unit was that the cable can push or pull the internal board by something less than 0.1mm and that makes the difference. Your mileage may vary, but I suspect that this is likely to be common (but fairly easily overcome)

SD/micro SD ports and Ethernet port are USB 2.0 speed only
Pretty disappointed to find that the SD/micro SD card slots only operate at USB 2.0 speed. I can't get more than 30MB/sec out of them but a cheap USB 3.0 reader gets over 100MB/sec. The Ethernet port also seems limited to these speeds and certainly not Gigabit - I cap out at 250-300Mbits on my 360Mbit internet connection (I get the full 360Mbits from my motherboard's Ethernet port. This is a shame as I wanted to run a single USB Type-C cable from my motherboards USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port to connect several other cables including the network port but ultimately you'll lose a lot of bandwidth and speed it seems

Died after 2 days
The unit wouldn't power the Chromebook after the second day of use - the power regulators died.
