Delicious and nutritious
These are delicious and nutritious. What more can a muncher ask for? Actually, I'm not much of a muncher, but I do have a snack every 2 1/2 hours, so the fact that these have only a couple grams of protein makes them perfect for mid-morning or afternoon snacks while working at the computer, etc. My favorite of the many benefits of eating amaranth is it's enormous content of high-net-gain calcium. I can feel my bones sighing with delight after I eat one of these, and getting stronger and healthier. I'm not a nutritionist, so do your own research on the many qualities of amaranth. The fact that they're sweetened with agave nectar is another selling point because it's my favorite sweet for sustained energy, (Agave nectar has a low glycemic rating and enters the body gradually over a longer period of time than sugar). My favorite flavor so far is the cranberry.

It's a shame as I love amaranth! I recently came back from a trip ...
Soft instead of crunchy. Lack of flavor. This is not food. It's a shame as I love amaranth! I recently came back from a trip to Ecuador and had some delicious amaranth granola bars which is why I was inspired to order these. Maybe if the grains were toasted to bring out their nutty flavor and then mixed with some nuts or something actually crunchy these would be edible.

Not chocolatey
Ok, but not as good as the ones I get at the local Mexican grocery. And they crumble too easily, so not very useful to carry in my backpack.

As good as the original “Alegrias”
The flavor of these bars is almost as good as the original Mexican “Alegrias”. Just too sweet! They really don’t need that much sugar. And because of that, I will only eat half of the bar.
