Sadly, it's gotten harder to find and the market I originally bought it from closed a few years ago and the other market I continued to buy it from, no longer carries it. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE I'VE FOUND. This paste is delightfully unique and I've come to depend on it for a few recipes that just don't taste the same when I've tried other similar products. Many of those are more 'saucy' or chunky (like a finely minced salsa) but this is really a paste with a heady 'earthy' flavor that I really like. My only complaint with this was that the first batch I ordered wasn't packed carefully enough and the jars arrived shattered. Given I am paying a lot more buying it online (about $7 for each jar that normally cost me about $3.50 at the Asian grocery) I expected better care in shipping but as usual with any problem, desertcart made good on the transaction and refunded my order and I reordered another two pack which arrived in fine condition. I hope the recent tariff fiasco does not make this impossible to find (or prohibitive in price) when next I run out. Review: No different than any other. - Not impressed with the product or price.

I add it to bean recipes, chicken or pork marinades, slices of avocado, etc.. I've had it before but no longer live near stores where I can buy it, so I'm glad it was on Amazon. Came very quickly, very well packed. The silicone brush is handy. It's useful for applying oil to a pan, to slices of eggplant, etc., and it goes right into the dishwasher. My other brushes never get clean and the bristles are always falling out onto the food...

It's Simply the Best
This is simply the very best chili paste with garlic for Szechwan and any other spicy Asian food. I have tried them all and none of the others come close!

Spicy Thanksgiving Turkey
I used it along with a chipolte paste to make a "spicy" rub for my Thanksgiving smoked turkey. YUM!!!

Broken bottles, hot sauce everywhere
I love this hot sauce but the two bottles I bought arrived shattered with hot sauce everywhere. Find another vendor.

Great seasoning. Can use with almost everything.
Love the taste of the paste. Use in lots of my cooking seasoning. Never received the basting brush as advertised.
