Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits, and Haunted Places (The Real Unexplained! Collection)

As someone who is well into their senior years I have been a curious and voracious reader for more than 7 decades. My reading passions have ranged from the hardcore scientific to the often strange esoteric. This is why while browsing on Amazon when I saw this huge 678-page large format volume (Real Ghosts, restless spirits, and haunted places, second edition by Brad Steiger) I decided to purchase it. This very interesting and entertaining book is organized into 29 topic ares covering just about every form of ghost and paranormal mysteries. If you are fascinated by ghosts and related topics this is a book you will want to check out. There are numerous fascinating and strange true stories in this excellent book. Rating: 5 Stars. Very Good!

I love reading stories like this. The book itself is way bigger in size than I'm used to...more like an old school text book. It makes it kinda hard to hold. The content itself is just what I was looking for, so overall I'd purchase this again.

Great book, fun to read on a dark and rainy night, very detailed, true stories, easy to understand...worth the read!

This was a interesting read I liked the style of the author and there were a few stories I haven't read about in any other book.

I was so excited to see this book, at first, you see I've owned the first edition for years and I SUPER love it! To me, It's one of those books I would NEVER consider getting rid of. When I saw this edition I figured Ok the author made another book with an entire new set of stories making it a second edition.... I was so ignorantly wrong. It's the same book with a different forward and maybe a couple added stories. I know this is my fault for not educating myself better before purchasing but the description should at least openly warn people before buying that this is not a brand new colection of stories, it's just a tad updated. Oh well it's a good book to pass along to a friend anyway.

It's a great book! Exactly what I was looking for. Definitely a perfect late night read...unless you're easily frightened. ;)

I came to know author Brad Steiger while reading the books of Timothy Green Beckley. I got the Second Edition of this books and I recommend it to whomsoever wants to get a huge view of how our world is frighteningly, troublelingly, fascinatingly strange; opening our culture on something far beyond the realm of the palpable everyday life... Among many others, there is a story about a cowboy (You will know when you read it!) Which is a wonder of how a human can be a good person; a very good example of blessed and inspiring generosity.

My friend owned this book, and before I could even get through the first few pages, I had already ordered myself a copy. Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places take you around the world exploring the haunted history of many historic homes, castles, churches, graveyards, roads and of course tales associated with them. If you believe in Ghost(or not) It is still a great read cover to cover. As a person who loves history and folklore I found this book to be a wonderful addition to my collection. From the Tower of London, to Myrtles Plantation, up to the Nasty Ghost of Amherst(Nova Scotia) This is one of those books you can open up to any page, and just start to read. Though oddly when I do, it always lands on the page about The Octagon House in Washington D.C (kinda spooky)
