Abandoned Breaths: Poems

I found Alfa because a friend tagged me in a post on social media. The post brought me to tears 😢 I wondered if was the only one that would make my heart feel. Started following Alfa on all social sites, additionally i was looking for her posts, trying to figure out why and how a total stranger could be inside my damaged heart. When I received the book, I wanted to find just one poem that didn't bring to mind either a person or event in my life. How did she know me? Why was she writing about my life? I kept reading ... Found ONE that was so far from what I knew! ONE! I then asked my husband to browse the book and see what he got. After a bit, he announced the was one that he could relate to. ONE! You'll never guess .. yep, we had picked the same ONE. After further discussion we agreed it's your perception of what is written, and how you choose to look at remember your life. Everyone suffers heartache, with one always being a beacon of pain, calling you to remember the tormented and tattered pieces of a relationship more than the positive. Alfa walked me thru some bad stuff, which reminded me in order to move forward in a healthy life, not only must I be a new person. I must shed the old nasty stuff. To totally take off old feelings so that I don't cover the new hope and positive stuff with garbage. Today I read from beginning again, this time, I knew that was then. This is now. This book not only touched every mental, emotional and spiritual side of me, but I'd helping me move from angry pissed off woman, to a more peaceful place. I haven't finished so I can't tell you where it ends. Only that it does. 💜💚 Alfa 💜💚

I'm so happy I was able to obtain this book at a really good price alfa is one of my favorite writers.. I love her work and everything was great the shipping communication I will definitely be purchasing more of her work through Amazon it's easy quick and never lets me down

Upon receiving the book, I immediately dove in between the pages, determined to read it cover-to-cover that day. Round about page 67, I needed to let the dogs out, and began thinking about what I had previously read. And I could barely remember any of it! I just knew that what I had read resonated within me somehow. So I started all over. I would read each bit, then close the book and contemplate what was being said, and if/how the written word interacted in my day-to-day life. Needless to say, before I made it to page 27, I could feel my heart strings playing dueling banjos! Some of the prose would pull my heart in one direction, and the next would directly relate to someone I was close to! And when I felt the tug-of-war going on inside me, I knew I had found words worthy of any great philosopher! Abandoned Breaths could easily be used as a syllabus for a college level philosophy class. I am anxiously waiting now to see when Alfa will be releasing another book! I will definitely be a repeat customer! (ps-I ordered a couple more as gifts for family!l

If you’re looking for a poetry book to add to your collection, look no further. Alfa has blown me away again. Her first book was a chapbook, short and sweet. Abandoned Breaths is full and savory.Many of these pieces allowed my soul to sigh with the total truth Alfa allowed into her words. This book has all that your soul is seeking, and each poem is like a new breath. A new way to open. A fresh honesty.There’s really not much I can say in regards to this book other than the fact that it’s amazing. I have so many quotes I want to share. I had them all typed up in this review and it was nothing but quotes from this book. But I didn’t want to spoil the refreshing air of this poetry collection.I’m so happy to know such a beautiful human being and to have her work resting on my headboard at night.

This author never fails to amaze me as to how she can leave words into sentences and make them break your heart. It's just so beautiful I read the books over and over again.

Whew. Alfa. I've followed Alfa for some time on various social media sites, and her touching poetry and anecdotes always pause my rapid scrolling. It's a blessing to have her work gathered in "Abandoned Breaths" her debut collection of poetry, quotes, and prose.You won't find explorations and studies of the world here, no observational poems about nature or food or architecture; what you find here are poems that explore the human heart and soul. Alfa is noted for her romantic discourses on love, love lost, empowerment, and self-discovery, and any person with a thread of sensitivity in them and anyone that's experienced the turmoil and bounty of love will find numerous pieces in "Abandoned Breaths" that resonate loudly and clearly.I don't know how many of these poems I shared with my wife, but I can say that it was a lot. And every time she echoed my own reactions, that these poems were written for us and our lives.What power that is for a poet!What power it is to hold words up to a reader so that they can see their own soul and their own story reflected back at them.If you've been meaning to set foot into the world of contemporary poetry, do yourself and your heart a favor, and start here.Bravo, Alfa.

Alfa, Is a master at getting to core values of life. I would wholeheartedly recommend this true genius of work from an exceptionable talent. Alfa is no freshperson (freshman) in life. She touches nerves that need sparking to awaken our lives. Great gift idea, or give yourself a treasure. Once you read Alfa, like me, you become addicted (in a good way); it becomes a habit, as I think: "Have I had my Alfa today?" Like a daily vitamin, she's just that good. I would stand in the rain to get her next offering, but I can order online, like you. But please let me give you a friendly warning: If you don't like great poetry, if you don't want your heart touched, your mind stimulated,or make positive things happen, then turn away from Alfa's book: "Abandoned Breaths". I have always been a fan of Alfa's poetry and have always loved seeing the daily updates and messages she puts on Instagram and Facebook, I bought this book as found one of her notes hit me more than any others, I contacted her directly and she was kind enough to reply and talk a small amount, it made my day and I hadn't felt that happy in so long, this book has helped me get through the difficult period I am in and I love it so much, I will always cherish it! This author will take your breath away, her words are pure and real and raw. I was captivated from the first page. A must read! You will fall in love with these words.

A beautiful book written by a wonderful young writer. It is so emotive and speaks straight to your heart.
