Two Volcanoes is the best
UPDATE 8/8/2018: It's been over a year since I've bought my first bag of Two Volcanoes Coffee. Since then I've bought roughly one bag per month, every month. This is my favorite coffee! Every bag has been, as far as I can tell, identical to every other bag. The coffee is always fresh, roasted perfectly, and has a deep flavor I've never found elsewhere. Whenever people smell the freshly ground beans, they all have the same reaction: "Wow!" Even the smell has a deep earthy flavor, one that people generally aren't used to and certainly aren't expecting. I cannot recommend this coffee enough. Original review below: I'm an avid coffee drinker, though not a connoisseur by any means. That said, I know good coffee from bad and great coffee from good. This is great coffee. There's a unique flavor to this coffee that I haven't experienced before; a deep, earthy taste that separates this from every other coffee I've ever had. Since buying my first bag of Two Volcanoes Coffee just 2 months ago, I've bought 3 more - neither I nor those I share it with can get enough. Try it and you'll feel the same, I'm sure. I'm looking forward to receiving my next bag - I'm almost out!

Two Volcanos and a Blog
Two Volcanos is a very nice coffee. I bought it because my usual coffee brands had been declining in quality. I am not the first guy to notice this decline. I hear talk about it everywhere. So I decided to seek out something new. In searching the web for ideas, I came across a blog about coffee by a guy named Marc Wortman. I highly recommend that you check out his website at makegoodcoffee.com. The guy does not promote any brand names. He just discusses coffee in all its aspects. I learned about the coffee berry borer beetle problem on one of the Hawaiian Islands from Marc's site. I had never heard of the beetle before, but now I'm an expert. Anyway, Marc mentioned that in his opinion the best coffee beans are grown in Guatemala. I didn't even know they grew coffee in Guatemala. I didn't even know for sure where Guatemala was. But I took Marc's advice and I searched Amazon for coffee from Guatemala. Marc specifically mentioned that the coffee berries from the Antigua area in Guatemala are the best, but I couldn't find an Antigua coffee on Amazon. Two Volcanos is Guatemalan coffee. I don't know if it's grown in Antigua, but I figured maybe not, but at least it's from Guatemala. So I ordered Two Volcanos. I am no expert on coffee; but Two Volcanos is certainly better than what I've been drinking lately. They sent me an email advising me to try using different amounts of coffee in brewing my coffee until I find the perfect amount to suit my tastes. I am in the process of doing this right now. I also bought a coffee press, based on reading about it on Marc Wortman's website; and I intend to try the coffee press method of brewing soon. Anyway, I intend to continue trying other coffees but I do like Two Volcanos. I have ordered some Kona Gold (or something like that) from Amazon. This comes from Hawaii. According to Marc the beans are so highly desired that 100% Hawaiian Gold would cost you a fortune. So they blend the Hawaiian Gold beans with Arabica beans from Brazil so you can get some of the enjoyment of the coffee taste without breaking your bank account. Well, good luck in your search for good coffee. I hope my comments help you. I am drinking Two Volcanos coffee as I write. I have increased the amount of coffee I use. Today I ground up a 6-cup amount of coffee beans and only used 4 cups of water. This is the best I've tasted so far.

Worth waiting for
This is excellent coffee and reliable. There was a delivery delay this time, but no big deal; it’s in the cabinet now.

Java from Lava
These are some quality beans and they are roasted nicely. Mine arrived a bit oily but the coffee doesn't have a strong or bitter taste to it; in fact it has a vey smooth taste that brings out the character of the beans. It isn't uncommon for beans to release a little oil after they have rested awhile, especially when roasted beyond 'light' as these are. However, it appears that these beans benefit from a darker roast than some others do and the oil is not a sign of over-roasting. This coffee tastes like 'real' coffee, which is to say it is like what you are used to, only without any of the unpleasant undertones that you might find in cheaper beans. I recently tasted some Ethiopian coffee and while it was excellent it had a taste that was, well, different. The aroma and taste both had floral notes to them and my first impression was that it didn't exactly taste like coffee. You won't find that here. This is some rich, non-bitter coffee that should be enjoyable to most coffee drinkers. If you like good coffee, pony up for a bag of these and you won't be sorry.

Flavorful and aromatic. Perfect for individual cups or percolated after grinding. Great value.

Unfortunately Too Weak
I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed by this coffee after reading all the positive reviews. I got it and basically immediately ripped it open, ground it up and made a cup. It goes without saying that it smells fantastic. They are definitely high quality beans. The problem with this coffee is the roast. It's supposed to be a medium roast but it really doesn't have the strength of any medium coffee I've ever tried and I consider myself a bit of a medium roast snob. I've tried different grinds, differing quantities of coffee relative to the water and I just can't get the taste to be strong enough for my liking. The actual taste itself is great but the lack of strength just kills the experience for me. Maybe I got older beans that had lost their potency but I can't justify the expense of getting this coffee again with the risk of getting another one like the one I got, assuming of course it isn't typical. If you like a weaker coffee, you'll probably love this but if you are expecting a medium roast coffee, there are better options.
