Perfect for PT exercises
Great for physical therapy exercises. The right amount of softness for rehabilitation shoulder and chest exercises. They are expensive but high quality.

Top of the line!
This is the best! Very therapeutic. My husband loves it for rolling out tired back and leg muscles. It’s the best out there. You won’t be disappointed. Buy it!

Expensive But Quality
I did hesitate because of the price, but I am pleased I bought this roller. It is exactly the right firmness to use both as a back roller (stretching the spine), and support for chest stretches. It compresses evenly and comfortably, so you feel stable and able to focus on your exercise regimen.

As a retired ACSM cert trainer I recm THIS roller over others
This is the roller to get. These foam rollers soften and torque and change shape over time. This one is hard enough that it remains fairly firm and straight and this is critically important to get the benefits from such rollers. Physical Therapists all use this one but it is true that they may have the cheaper softer ones for people just starting out on the roller and are struggling through the initial stages of inflamation or injury. Otherwise, THIS is the roller to get and I would suggest you ignore the few complaints about it being "too hard". You want these rollers hard for several reasons: 1. To do what they are intended to do, 2. To remain rigid and straight longer than a week. If you are using the roller properly, yes - you will have some discomfort and even what some might describe as "pain" which is why you don't get on these things and roll on them quickly; they are meant to work with slowly as you gradually use them to help to bring order to traumatized muscle and connective tissue. Your body will adapt if you use the roller regularly and what seems "hard" today re this roller will in 3.5 weeks of rolling everyday or every other day seem almost soft and a pleasurable nice gentle massage after that. So stick with it, don't go get a cheaper softer roller, and use it AS DIRECTED - yes even you, the non-expert, who thinks you know just exactly how hard or soft these things should be. The roller is for massage as well as stability (strengthening) work and again, in my professional experience in the trade, this is the best one out there. The only better one I've experienced is one I made by using plastic pipe from plumbers supply and glued sticky mats to the outside of the pipe. This one is slightly softer than using my home-made pipe one; this one is the perfect consistency of hard enough to do the job but soft enough not to break anything.

Excellent foam roller
This roll seems to be slightly softer than the roll we use in our physical therapy clinic. I think this makes it excellent for people just starting to use a foam roller. I am using this roller with P90X2. I have only used it twice so far but it has worked well. It seems like the rumble roller would be more likely to put pressure on a nerve or bone. Sometimes things hurt because they are supposed to not because it is a muscle that needs work. I think this roller allows me to work my muscles with less concern for irritating the nerves. I may try a rumble roller if I don't feel I can get deep enough with this roller but avoid any areas that send tingling or numbness down the length of my extremities. So far, I think this roller will meet my needs. I have always liked OPTP's products and think they make the best lumbar and cervical rolls in the business. I looked to them for a foam roller and have not been disappointed so far.

If you want an effective foam roller, get it!
I love this foam roller! I have had several others but this one is superior. I used it at a PT clinic and then saw that my Pilates studio had it as well. After using it a few times in those settings, I knew I had to get one for home. It’s firm and effective. It is long enough that I can roll out my whole spine on it. With its density, it is very good at producing that “hurts so good” type of pain that I am looking for in a foam roller. Although it is on the more expensive side compared to other foam rollers on the market, I think it’s absolutely worth it.

Best massage you can give yourself.
This provides an amazing massage that hurts so good. You'll swing your legs from their sockets like your free and unlocked.

Great Roller. Not a Toy!
This item is obviously listed in the wrong category. It is not a toy! I have been going to physical therapy for several problems and used a foam roller there for needed exercises and therapy. I decided to buy one to use at home. This one is 6 inches longer than the ones at PT. I needed the extra length since I'm tall. So far I love this roller. It does the job for me. I took it to PT one day to show it off and they loved the blue color. The ones they have are white. It's just a bit softer to the touch than theirs, but it seems to be rugged and rigid enough for my needs. The only complaint I have is the price. It seems a bit steep, but I guess you have to pay for quality.

Very firm. Have three people using this roller regularly for the last few months and it still looks and feels like new. This roller will last so much longer than the white foam ones. Highly recommend!

I've blown through at least 3 other foam rollers and none have been able to withstand my use of them for as long as this has. It was referred to me by my Pilates instructor who insisted on this brand, this type and I'm glad I took her advice! I was/am a marathon runner and while I have a love/hate relationship with the roller, I certainly know the difference when one works and when one stops working. Hands down - worth the investment over anything else you can buy in a sports store or running related store. Highly recommend.
