Watts 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. Repair Kit for Lead-Free Tempering Valve

I noticed that my shower was going cold with my tankless oil hot water system. I feared that my tankless coil was getting scaled up again, but I thought I would try replacing the tempering valve first since this is far less expensive and difficult than getting the coil acid-flushed. This repair kit was easy to install and did the trick. Plus I didn't have to sweat in a whole new tempering valve.

worked excellent, installed in just 20 minutes. I would recommend this to anyone, and the price is right.

This is the replacement for the workings in an LF70A, but the image on Amazon.com is inaccurate. I took a chance and ordered the part despite it being depicted wrong in the picture. This is exactly what you get.

Installed and all seemed fine, however after shutting off furnace for other reasons the pipes got cold and this valve leaked. Furnace back on and leak stopped.

It fits. It works and it stopped my leak. Not much more to say

I had a “plumber” install the valve and soon learned he was an inexperienced helper who left this part in while soldering which the instructions specifically state will kill it.After several months of scaling hot water I decided to replace the damaged part (this thermostat) and happy to report it has tempered the water below the pain threshold.Installation was easy, just unscrew the top of the valve (with pliers) and put this one in. The spring took a little coaxing to get it on the part (look how the old one is installed) but I got it in fine after about 5 minutes.Good part and good price for the Watts valve.I’ve heard they can fail over time so if your hot water is too hot and you are using a tempering watts valve it's worth replacing this part for the price.
