I'm not an expert on book making so take this for what it is, an average persons review.
This is an absolutely beautiful bible. When I was shopping for a bible I had certain "features" that I was looking for, as I assume we all do when making a significant purchase. My wish list was:NKJVnon-China printed or boundquality soft leathersewn bindingportable size8-10 pt fontaround $100The leather has a very nice feel/texture and is very supple. The book laid flat the first time I opened it, even to the title page and the last page of Revelation. The print is clean and I love the line matching (did not even know that this is something I should have been looking for but hope to never buy a bible again without it). There are several bibles that met all or at least several of those criteria and of those this was the least expensive. I got mine through Amazon from Book Depository US, but it shipped from GB so it took a few extra days, for $118. I could not be happier.P.S. I will note that the pages do curl just a touch, as noted by other reviewers. I don't find this to be troubling and after watching some youtube reviews of this bible I am thinking that will subside with time and use.

Superb Reading Bible
This is a top quality Bible that fits easily in the hand and is super easy to read. Clear text, line matching which reduces ghosting distraction, quality paper, and a layout that is just the right width for single column reading. Wider pages can be hard to read smoothly sometimes for me, but this Bible is wonderful in this respect. I see some negative reviews based on... well read them yourselves. Read the description before buying. Black text throughout. Smaller thick dimensions that fit well in one hand. Quality binding as you would expect. For me, this is a joy to hold and read from. Oh, also has a wonderful map index which allows easy access to cities, geography, and other features. I own other high-end Bibles that are more expensive, but none I cherish using as much as the Clarion.

Soft and very flexible.
Soft and very flexible, this Clarion version really tests the paper quality with it's weight and size when holding while turning. Paragraph formatting, it's everything you expect out of Cambridge. Of course the $130 price is always a concern, however this feels like it could pass the test of time with it's quality. The wood-like brown is a nice touch.

The most important thing is reading the Word.Let God speak through this Holy Bible. This edition is one to buy. God Bless
What I like the most about this Bible is the way that it comes across as a reader like myself. The font size is readable and the print layout is spaced just right, easy on the 64 year old eyes. I love the paragraph form also. One is focused on the content and eternal message more. This is God's Message. He meant for us to read it.If one can't, then, it's not "worth two cents" as Billy Graham said. . The cover is soft and it's as if it were already broke in. Buy this edition. It will be by my side for the rest of my life!

Dissapointing
(This review is for the Brown Calfskin NKJV Clarion specifically.)Although I have a few gripes about this Bible, I would gladly have kept it were it not for one important detail. The words of Christ are NOT in red. OK, so after double-checking, its description doesn't explicitly say it does (as the black goatskin edition points out that it does have red letters), but isn't is safe to assume as much? An instant return for me.A few other personal gripes, none of which were deal breakers:* It's quite a brick of a Bible. Its height/width outght to make it very handy to hold, but its thickness makes it an awkward size and shape.* The font is very large; maybe too large given the paper dimensions.* And the choice of font isn't terribly easy on the eyes. It's a sharp, jagged, pointy kind of font. (You've got to see it for yourself, I suppose.)Other than that, there are many good points worth mentioning:* The brown calfskin leather is gorgeous! Soft, supple, flexible - all the things one wants!* The overall construction in superb. The paper, the dark, sharp type setting, smyth-sewn binding - all exceptional.I wouldn't dissuade one from making this purchase, but I'm definitely happy to fill you in on whats missing from the description and lack of clear photos!

No page curling with this Bible!
I bought this Bible in Calf Split few years ago, and I experienced bad page curling. Not so with this Brown Calfskin edition I purchased from Amazon last week. I love this Bible! Genesis to Revelation will open flat, no problem. I also like that the calfskin has a little more stiffer cover then the goatskin does. It's easier to hold and easier to use, imo. The size is the perfect combination of legibility and portability.Highly recommended!

A quality choice for a lifetime of Bible study!
This is a beautiful bible! Some of the reviews indicate it's heavy but I don't find it any heavier than any thin line Bible. It is a quality made publication and I am thrilled I chose it.

Best NKJV Single Column
If you want good mid sized text in single column then this is the best of the best. Cambridge is the best and they really know their leather, paper and bindings.

Easy to read
Nice font - so easy to read. The only thing that my husband didn't like about the format was, that it was harder to find a reference because the numbers are in the paragraph as opposed to each verse starting at the margin. However, it does make contextual reading easier because there isn't those verse breaks.

Unexpectedly easy to read
Handy size, very clear type because the leading ( space between lines is good), and you wouldn't think it for the font size they quote. I have +2.75 and I can read this with only bedside light. The ink and paper have a particular though faint smell, but it's not of cheap ink that burns my nose and makes my eyes water. I've had to send Bibles back for that reason. I have grown to quite like this. If Cheap ink and chemicals are an issue for you, Schuyler Bibles are also not smelly, and beautiful, but they are an investment.

I was very impressed with Clarion reference bible from Cambridge. I was amazed as soon as I took it out of the box. The genuine leather is the best quality I've ever felt. The inside is just as good, the chapters are laid out perfectly. I look forward to reading it ever day.
