This is by far the best adult care skin cream for healing and preventing rashes. I'm a caregiver for an elderly, incontinent person who has been wearing disposable underwear. She's getting inflammation from the briefs. Someone suggested Balmex and it's been a real lifesaver!

The top of the layer of the cream was a bit chalky and it was weird rubbing it on, but there was no problem absorbing in to my skin so that didn't really matter. If anything, it kept me from using more than I need, so there was a bright side. After you've used it for a while though the creamier properties of this cream really come through quite nicely, if that's what you're into.I bought this cream because I read a review about a guy with a chronic rash that this product cured him of. I've had this patch on my belly for like 2-3 years now and the skin's a bit discolored... all I can say is it does seem to be getting better, but I don't know if this is too good at preventing irritation because after a few days of heavy sweating at work, I break out a little bit in that rash. Also, it doesn't appear to function as a moisturizer either, so if that's what you need.. maybe buy one in addition to this cream. Ultimately, pretty decent value. But if my rash comes back after I finish the tub, I'll probably buy something to try it out.

This is a wonderful product and has really helped my needs. I have a urination problem and go very freguently. That problem plus the fact that I am fat and in the summer I sweat a lot more in that private area and it causes me to search for a product that will relieve the irritation problem from those two problems. I cleanse the area good with Aloe-Vesta that I found on-line and then put the Balmex Rash Cream on and found some relief plus relieves the odor problem also.

I first came into knowledge of this product when my dad had become an invalid and mostly bedridden. This product helped immensely with skin irritations, a somewhat miracle product as far as I'm concerned. Definitely will purchase again when I run out of this jar.

The product is thick enough to coat any irritation or skin break to protect it from further damage while it quickly heals it. A little goes a long way and although I use the cream often, the 12 oz jar lasts me several years.

I developed a heat rash due to the hot desert heat. At first I didn't know exactly what I had, but after a little research it became clear. There are a number of over the counter remedies, and I tried a LOT of them, with limited success. It takes a few days to see results, so I used each product for at least 3 days before assessing the change and then moving on to the next product. Balmex got favorable reviews as something that "works," and indeed it does.I used it for 3 days and my rash was significantly reduced in both size and color. It is not exactly a lotion, as it is quite stiff, but so is Noxzema, a product with a promising name and good for the skin, but ineffective for heat rash. I tried formulations with sulfur, coal tar, and others, and even a prescription medication, which did show signs of working, but the Balmex REALLY worked.I believe it is the same product as Balmex for diaper rash, which is also available in a lotion form, but renamed for adults who have some stigma or hesitation about using a baby product. The 12 oz. size contains a LOT of product.
