Apica Premium C.D. Notebook - A5-7 mm Rule - 96 Sheets

I love almost everything about this notebook: the paper is smooth and super high quality, the simple page design with college-ruled lines and a header space at the top, the fact that it lays perfectly flat without being held down. Everything except for the cheesy quote on the cover in script letters ("Choose the paper like you would a good pen") and the prominent, tacky "Premium" stamp. I want to use a quality notebook, not declare to my coworkers that I am a stationary nerd and/or notebook elitist. I'll use it anyway because I prioritize function over form, but I would prefer a plainer and less pretentious design.

The nicest notebook I’ve ever owned for journaling and writing down thoughts

I didn't have high expectations of this pad/paper...but I was curious, so I opened it when it arrived. Wow! Seriously. I've never felt paper this smooth. It was actually a little too smooth for my fountain pen - not enough to grab the ink. Good with gel pens though.

I have been using this notebook for several months now with many different fountain pens. The paper is smooth with no bleed through or feathering. However, it doesn’t show much sheen with those inks that include it. The pages fold and hold easily regardless of where you fold, and the notebook closes flat again without springing open. I don’t know how they managed that, but it works.

As good as hoped

This notebook was a best notepaper pick from Wirecutter/New York Times so I decided to try it. I love the creamy smooth paper that holds ink but doesn't bleed through. Plus the quirky cover!!.

The seller shipped the item to India free of cost. It took a while for the book to arrive but it was worth the wait. The paper in the notebook is incredibly smooth and it works well with all the fountain pen inks that I have tried on it (J Herbin Perle Noire, Diamine Asa Blue, Diamine Twilight, PR Sherwood Green, Diamine Oxblood & Rohrer & KLingner Salix). I like it that the color of the paper is a very light cream (the papers in the new Quo Vadis Habana notebook and Rhodia Webnotebook are too yellowish for my taste). The notebook is excellent in almost every respect.

I use this notebook as my daily work notebook/journal. Excellent paper, feels very smooth and doesn't show ink through the back (I use a plain ballpoint pen).Opens fully flat at almosy any page because it uses a lot of small blocks of leaves. The only pages that don't easily open fully are those between blocks because of the binding glue. I don't find that to be a big deal.Love the accent color in the stitching for each block.The only negative I have is that this notebook is thicker than I wanted. This is my fault for not checking the physical dimensions. I was estimating thickness based on number of pages. The paper in this book is a little thicker than other notebooks, but that just adds to the premium feel.
