AMANAAGR4230BAW 5.1 cu. ft. Single Oven Free-Standing Gas Range, 30", White

We've had this gas range for about 2 months. My wife wanted it because it's one of the few ranges with the oven control down low, in front, so she doesn't have to reach across hot burners to adjust the oven (a fire hazard, in our opinion). But the steel burner grates warped with the first use, causing all pots and pans to rock side to side and slide around on them. The pots skate around as if they're on slick ice. And the oven grates are so tight, we really have to yank or push hard on them to move them in and out; today when I pulled the oven grate out, it came out a bit too far and tipped, causing me to almost lose our pot roast on the floor! Amana, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Don't you take any pride in your products? I wish I'd fixed our 20 year old range instead of replacing it with this piece of junk!

This range is not heavily featured , but is decent for an apartment with 1 occupant. The oven heats rapidly and the burners ignite without delay which is convenient because the igniters are electric . The surface is fairly easy to clean and the combined twin burner grates enable easy sliding of cookware . However, the knobs are composed of plastic and seem susceptible to easy breakage. The gas pressure in the burners seems weak which results in the flame being overly sensitive to moving air.

The grates on the range can tip if you put a heavy pan on the front. It is VERY dangerous. Plus the grates are slightly elevated in the center. Poor design.

Three of the four burners are useless. They can not be reduced enough to simmer food. This stove is useless, and needs a recall. Look at this picture, and tell me you could cook with this stove.

The range worked for 16 days and then the burner igniters stopped working. Amana has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will not replace the range and they have only one repair company which is 5 hours away, only works 2 days a week, and has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. They have twice not shown up for the scheduled service call, they do not respond to email, and I cannot get them on the phone.
