Simoniz Acrylic Clear Lacquer Spray Paint for Wood Metal, 500 ml

Good product very pleased

Bought to attempt a re-lacquer of a car wing mirror, where the original lacquer had peeled off revealing just the rather dull metallic paint underneath. I took as much of the peeling lacquer off as possible, cleaned thoroughly with an alcohol wipe and then tried this spray. As others say, many thin coats rather than few thick ones. At first I wasn't sure about over-spraying as the wet lacquer appeared to dimple a bit. But as it dried, the dimples went away. The result was impressive. Virtually restoring the wing mirror to it's former shine. That was nearly 2 months ago and the lacquer has put up with sun and heavy rain and is still looking good! Thoroughly recommended!

Not as shinny as expect but looks okay

I use this for my acrylic paintings. It's on, but hard to get even coverage, though that may be my fault

I would normally use U-Pol powercan clearcoat but decided to try the Hots Simoniz laquer instead. Glad I did. It may be a little more expensive, though not by much, but it sprays on much better. Even though it has a standard round-pattern nozzle after a good shake the laquer sprays on in a fine mist with no clumping or thick spots. The can also feels heavier than the u-pol equivalent and generally appears to be of a higher quality. I have invested in some directional spray nozzles and will use Holts in future products if the durability is as good as the spray itself (as I expect it will be.)

Had problems with this lacquer for some reason after shaking the can for minutes at a time and in-between sprays it would always leave a gas mark from the can on the paint work
