MAKO Spearguns Spearfishing Wetsuit 3mm 2 Piece Yamamoto Reef Camo

I really like this suit a lot!!!

I am 6'4 and about 190 pounds, wearing the XL version with Farmer John pants in 3mm. The wetsuit is made from excellent quality material that is very flexible and relatively warm. The workmanship is outstanding and the design does include reinforcements in many areas. I dive mostly in a fresh water river, temperature here is year round 55F-65F and the suit does OK, would not go any colder than 55F. I also used it in the oceana and in water up to 75F warm. The 3mm sound really thin but around the torso it does double up to 6mm (pants plus top) and since the suit is so flexible it is very tight fitting and does not allow water to flush through. Only if I do a fast sprint or in high current conditions I can notice cold water entering the suit sometimes. During normal diving this does not happen. The suit is comfortable and easy to put on with lube, so far I only used diluted conditioner with great results. I do own the knife pictured but I have difficulties to re-insert it in to the pocket so I am not using it as intended. I used it so far on maybe 20 dives totaling maybe 30 hours and the suit does not show any wear except in the crotch area. I own another 5mm/4mm warm suit and was a little skeptical about the need for lube but this turned out to be no issue.All is great except these small issues:The Velcro from the top started to fuzz out the crotch area from the pants on the outside/camo a little.The knee pads have to be brushed clean after you kneel down in mudKnife pocket does not work well for meWish it had a pocket for my car key like some other suits

I bought this wetsuit directly from Mako. I really love it.I spearfish in a local freshwater lake, and this wetsuit is warm enough that I can spearfish almost year round. I'm 6'0" 185 lbs and the large fits pretty well. The top is pretty snug in the shoulders, but otherwise is great. You will most definitely need to either purchase or make your own "suit slide" as this wetsuit is open cell wetsuit so the neoprene is open on the inside. Trying to put the wetsuit on without lube is like trying Hannibal Lecter trying to squeeze into the skin of somebody 50 lbs lighter.The mako website has great tutorials for wetsuit care.[...]

This is an amazing wetsuit. Keeps me warm in low 70s with 3mm. Buy the wetsuit lube!!! Or mix water and Johnson's baby shampoo and apply to the inside Yamamoto rubber to slip on. Comfortable wetsuit too
