Can you fit an 8.5x11 paper in it flat or do you have to fold it?

Why would anyone buy this if it's made too small to hold a sheet of paper flat?

Usually when something is rated as water proof, there is not a direct relation to scents. Liquids seal differently that smells.

can i leave this unlocked or does it automatically lock?

You could leave it unlocked.. (No, it doesn't auto lock) very flimsy key..
