60Hz Display Port cable for MacBook w/4K external displays
I've been searching for a a 60Hz cable for a very long time and in that process I've been conned by many vendors and electronic stores who knew literally ZERO about a product's technical specification. I'm an engineer and a photographer by trade so I want crisp clear displays with perfect color reproduction! So I bought the LG 27UK650 4K display for my 2018 MBP. That thing is a killer. The display quality and color reproduction blows everyone else out of the water...especially Samsung. My quest for an actual 60Hz cable led me here and I can tell you this is cable by Benfei is a proper 60Hz that supports 4k resolution. I use it on my 2018 MBP (i9/32GB/1TB/RadeonPro560x) with the LG display connected as an external monitor. Now let's get technical:The reason why HDMI 1.4 cables don't work for 4K resolution (3840x2160) is because their data transfer rate is limited to 10 Gbps. No matter how big the font size of "High Speed" is written on the HDMI cable box, it doesn't matter anything. It is still 10 Gbps for HDMI 1.4. If you want to watch an actual 4K video, not an upscaled one, you need HDMI 2.0, which supports 18 Gbps for data transfer. But then, every single TV show/movie is shot on 24Hz so that cable might work great for TV. If you're working on a computer, you need 60Hz for work because the HDMI ports on computer displays, or at least my 4K monitor, doesn't support 60Hz. And 2560x1440 is not 4K, it is 2K.Enter USB-C. USB-C has a data transfer of 40Gbps and you can happily have two 4K streams at 60Hz connected to your MacBook Pro. Now the Display Port is famous for supporting higher frame rates i..e 60Hz in this case. So a USB-C to Display Port makes more sense than USB-C to HDMI. Because of this powerful bandwidth, you can connect two displays with 5120-by-2880 resolution at 60Hz with your 15" MacBookPro over the USB-C.Its' been two weeks that I'm working with this cable and everything seems flawless so far. If I have to start nitpicking, I'd say the USB-C part of the cable is pretty tough to put in the Mac's usb slot...maybe with a few uses things will get better.TL;DR: HDMI cables on computers will give you 30Hz. I had an old USB-C-to-HDMI cable lying around so I used that to connect my mac to the display. The refresh rate was limited to 30Hz because it couldn't support a 4K resolution, which means there was a significant lag between mouse/trackpad and typing and almost any movement. Only display ports support higher frame rates, i.e. 60Hz or even 144Hz. So buy this cable if you're looking to extend the functionality of your MacBook Pro with a powerful 4K display.

This doesn't work with Mac
This is not a quality product. Faced a lot of issues with this one. Whenever you turn on the light in the room the entire monitor blinks and loses its connectivity. Also, it is not working in Mac. After connecting to Mac, the entire Mac heats up and hangs. I wouldn't recommend this item.

Using this since 1 year. perfect
Using this since 1 year. My laptop has thunderbolt (latitude 7280) and monitor is U2419 dell monitor. Works perfectly. Not sure if its active or passive since seller didnt mention. so 'may' have problem if connected through daisy chain using this monitor to another montor.

Doesn't work with my 2018 MacBook Pro
Like others have pointed out, the USB-C head doesn't fully fit in the computer's port, and there's no signal as a result. No branding to be found anywhere. Ships in some generic el-cheapo packaging.

Doesn't fit 2019 Macbook Pro
The cable did not fit on any ports of my Macbook Pro (2019). And the monitor showed 'No Signal'. I also tried another older Macbook Pro and same result. I have attached a photo comparing the cable fit side by side with a multiport dongle. I think I have a defective cable. I have asked for a refund.

Stopped working after 6 months
This cable worked fine (4K@60Hz) for about 5 months then it started failing. Sometime it didn't get recognized when plugged in or showed weird display artifacts. After about 6 months it stopped working entirely.
