Metal Earth 3-Piece Tool Set - Clipper - Flat Nose Pliers - Needle Nose Pliers

This is my first review - but I'll try to make it quick and straight forward. This set runs a little over $10, yea? Lets keep this in mind. I stumbled across metal earth and quickly fell in love! This is frankly a decent starters kit. I actually use these the majority of the time far into my 20+ somethingish models. With that said - yea those other reviews that claim the tools aren't 100% accurately aligned. If you purchase any other set in this price range - well it makes this set look great. Seriously I know. I'll be posting a review in the near future of what didn't work. So in my mind and rationalization this is a small concern especially compartiviely speaking. I'd recommend these to any metal earth fans just starting out. The set i received was pretty well aligned, although there were some gaps visible when held to a light. BUT this did NOT prove problematic. For its price - go for it. You'll most likely spend more on hobby pliers piecing a set like this individually. Also if you can pull of the bonus comment then you'll see even at a 20 price range still a great deal. BONUS COMMENT: if you feel the alignment of the pliers unbearable for some reason… Grab a handheld rotary tool (a.k.a. A Dremel or if you're on a budget some sort of knock & chorded Will most likely be cheaper. Also there's two different thoughts of battery verse power cord whatever floats your boat). Anyways yeah use that tool carefully on a level surface – with the proper protection and what not – To manipulate the pliers to close tighter… Or even sharpen the litter cutter tool. And that's just if your picky like me.

I bought these tools hoping they would help me with putting the metal earth models together easier. I love these they work great for the metal earth models. I have used other brand of tools which worked but not as good as these do. I especially like the metal cutter it cuts really nice and gets in the small spaces easily. Each tool is comfortable and easy to use. I have made a couple models with these tools and wish I had gotten them sooner because it has made it so much easier.

I just started the hobby of metal working. I went to harbor freight to get the tools I thought would work. Fail on my part. My attention was directed to this set. Night and day difference! They cut perfectly. They're not flimsy. They get into tight spaces. I cannot believe how well they work. Do yourself a favor and get them. You won't be disappointed.

This is great kit that gives you everything you need to complete the Metal Earth sets. I got a load of the Disney themed sets and always struggled to find good tools to make it easy. These tools work great and make getting the metal pieces out much easier. Plus you don't have to worry about using tools from the garage that might have chemicals or oil on them. I did find that I don't use the pliers much, but the needle nose pliers and clippers are plenty.

The quality of these tools is reflected in the price. I've had them for years, and after getting back into Metal Earth projects recently, I realized what an annoyance they actually are. The jaws of the needle nose pliers aren't ground flat, so there is a significant gap at the end of the jaws when the pliers are closed. Also, the jaws aren't rigid enough to bend or twist tabs if you grab the tabs in the tips of the jaws. The jaws will flex rather than bend the tab. The ends of the clippers are ground unevenly so that one jaw comes to a point while the other side has a large flat at the top, making it hard to insert into some sheets to clip the parts free. Also, the two halves of the clippers do not meet parallel, so there is a gap between the two cutting surfaces at the tip. The best made tool (and least used) is the pair of square jaw pliers. I don't expect that every set will have the same problems my set has--these problems are quality control problems, rather than design problems. But I should have returned these when I first got them. Your money is better spent elsewhere on better quality tools. Metal Earth has just released a new set (two tools only), which looks to be much nicer, though I haven't bought them yet.

If you like the metal models, this kit is essential. They are hard enough anyway!

Superbes Pinces sui fonctionne parfaitement ! J'en ai tester d'autres moins chères mais elle ne coupaient rien du tout (j'ai du les renvoyer et prendre celles-ci), je suis très contente de mon achat. Elles coupent très bien et on voit que c'est de la qualité ! Parfaites pour les maquettes en métal (et autres petites choses)
