Clever Game For Review & Practice
I am always looking for activities for my classroom that can complement what I am already doing. It's especially nice when that activity can be independent and oblige students to communicate with each other. This game has the potential to provide a great deal of oral practice and vocabulary review in a mildly competitive context. Each deck is divided into five colors. The red cards are SV phrases, the purple are one-word exclamations, the blue are nouns, the green are prepositions, and the yellow/orange are adjectives. The basic goal of the game is to form grammatical sentences of the greatest length using the cards you are dealt. You start by playing a red card and then building from there, adding objects, adjectives and other clauses as your cards permit. You then score your play, draw to replenish your hand, and pass to the next player.I think this would be a good 15-20 minute change of pace to help reinforce known vocabulary. The vocabulary included is basic mid-first year, but I think I will manufacture cards that are more suited to stories I am working on, and that are a little more 'amusing'.I like that the cards are durable and colorful. The game is straight forward to learn and the rules should not get in the way of the basic objective - reading practice and active sentence creation. I'm looking forward to trying this out in the fall.

Fun way to learn to speak French!
First of all, go ahead and buy both packs of cards, you won't be disappointed. I've reviewed the cards in general on the Pack 1 site (5 stars!), but wanted to say that these cards are just as impressive as the first set. Even if you speak no French at all, you can just jump in and start learning from the moment you open the cards. I think it's brilliant how the game was designed. The word on each card is not translated on that card - you get points not only for making sentences, but also for translating the sentences. However, the translation of the word is somewhere at the bottom of another card in the deck. As you play, you will get better and better at knowing what each word means. I've had some French classes in high school and college and been to France twice. My daughter knows no French. However, we are able to play the game together very well. There are plenty of words I don't know, and she's quite fast at picking up the vocabulary. A great game for the whole family!

Love the product and love the seller!
I read many positive reviews of the product and I have to say that they are spot on. This game is fun and challenging at the same time. It took a little figuring out to get started, but there are videos online that help. Also, Andrew is super responsive if you drop him an email. You can tell he believes in the product, as well he should.I can see us getting the other languages, if only to practice before visiting the country. We are currently focused on French, but would love to visit other countries and would want to know a little bit of the local language.Andrew also provides templates, so you can make your own cards. When we have mastered what we have, I will be in touch to see if he has suggestions on how to go about adding cards.

So engaging and easy to learn!
I bought Decks 3 and 4 when I ordered Decks 1 and 2 because other reviewers recommended doing that. Great decision! Learning to play the game is so easy! The instructions include pictures and you can be playing in two minutes. If you prefer videos, they have instructional videos (1-2 minutes) on how to play the games on kloogames dot com and You Tube. I teach high school kids and they LOVE this game! It is relevant and rigorous but it's so fun, they don't even know they're working. Best of all, I keep this as a self-choice game in my classroom, so they can use it if they finish an activity early, or in case we have a technology failure and need something on the fly.

Finally my Kids are Speaking French!
I am a French teacher and have been speaking French to my two children since they were born. But they never spoke back to me! Using this game accomplishes what I've been trying to do for years:get my kiddos to speak French! This game gives them the vocabulary and the desire to do it. We play this game every Saturday night as family game night and we try to see who can make the longest, funniest sentences. I also found my two kiddos (8 and 10 years old) playing with the cards on their own. They made up their own game where they trade cards with each other and try and incorporate that one into their sentence. It has really made a difference in their ability to retain the vocabulary words because it is FUN and FUNNY for them. Great set and worth every penny!

you get immediate feedback -- it's just more fun than simply forming sentences with cards
Bought the cards AND the board game. Card decks are the same as cards used in game. Game is my preferred way to learn -- because it's social and if you play with a French speaker, you get immediate feedback -- it's just more fun than simply forming sentences with cards, but cards are much more portable -- so I can use them more often (i.e., I can and do take them to work and form sentences with them on my breaks). I like having both cards and game.

It makes learning a new language fun!
My husband and I purchased Decks 3 & 4 (actually, both packs including Decks 1 & 2) without knowing if we would enjoy this game. Not a very expensive risk but still a risk because we did not see it in our local stores or knew of any friends who owned them so that we could try the game out first. We had a blast! It was a little challenging at first since we are very new to french but now we realize how much we have learned when days later we are remembering the words from playing the game. They stick in your brain! I should add that the words on the cards are useful and are needed for everyday language which is very important to us.I highly recommend this game to anyone new to the language and needing a fun and interesting way to learn.

KLOO is for everyone, my students love the games!
I use KLOO cards with adults and childern , they all love them. It's not always easy to make learning French fun for adults and especially children. I bought the Card Games Pack 1 (Decks 1 & 2) and Card Games Pack 2 (Decks 3 & 4).

Brilliant games!
Great games that adults and children can enjoy! These cards help build sentences that are unique but still grammatical. This means teachers can differentiate in all sorts of ways. With two packs in each game, a teacher can have one group playing at higher ability, and one group playing at lower ability, which is great for mixed classes. There are instructions for a couple of different games with the box, and loads more ideas on the company website. What's more, you can even download templates for other verb forms from Kloo, so you can build these games into your lessons over time and really add some fun! These aren't just end of term or rainy break time games, they should be a part of lessons from the beginning.

A funny and enjoyable game to learn French
I bought this game to use for teaching purposes and this is a great tool!!! It helps a lot with learning vocabulary as well as how to structure sentences (the color scheme used to build sentences). All the students I have used this game with have really enjoyed this game: they liked a lot making a variety of sentences about different topic, but above all they LOVED using many cards as possible to produce very long French sentences.

Fun to play and really helps with learning.
Kloo Learn to Speak French Language Cards. Bought these because my grandson has just started to learn French at High School. Enjoyed playing the basic game with him and it certainly helped him to understand the grammar better and he learned some new vocabulary. The colour coded sentences are really clever.

Learn French without realising!
We purchased decks 1 and 2 in August and have bought this as a following up for Christmas. This is a great way to encourage the family to speak French and to give confidence to children. It teaches sentence construction and vocabulary as well as being great fun!Decks 1 and 2 on their own allow for quite limited play but coupled with decks 3 and 4, games should last much longer. My 10 year old loves it! In my opinion it is useful for children who have learnt a small amount prior to starting.
