There are exactly two similar liquid iron products (same iron type) for sale on amazon right now. I tried the competition first only because it is a higher dose of iron than this one but with that higher dose comes a higher price. Naturally, given the chance to get twice as much for the same price most folks are going to want to try out the cheaper one in case it can do the job as well. When the bottle arrived the sticky circle that keeps the box closed had dried out and the box was open (but not the bottle, it was still sealed) and the dosage cup was missing from the box no biggie I have a few of those from other products. Iron because it is what it is, can have a metallic taste to liquid forms, this one comes with a "chocolate caramel" sort of flavor which I at least prefer to the grape flavor of the other product. This product comes in a four and eight ounce bottle, I bought the larger one just so I won't have to order as often. The dosage is 555% of the daily recommended value which sounds like a lot but if you're severely iron anemic your health care professional actually might be ordering doses that high or even higher to try to get you back where you need to be. It seems to be recognized that iron absorption from a liquid supplement is VERY superior to that you can get from pills. As a laymen natural healing student, I've always believed that at least some supplements will absorb better when your body doesn't have to work to extract it in the digestive tract. It's supposed to take several months to restore iron stores in the body when they get too low I can tell you from personal experience iron anemia makes you feel like a wet rag that just won't dry out, no energy, no drive, no desire to do much of anything but lay around. After about two months of high levels of supplements I'm feeling a lot butter but I'm determined not to have to deal with that again. There are reviews written by people who take these liquid products all the time, yes it's a little pricey but worth it believe me. Liquid iron products have the unfortunate reputation of staining teeth so when you use a product like this make sure to take a drink of something to swish it out of your mouth so it's not sitting on your teeth. Will post more once I've used this one for a while, I'm comparing it to the competing product to see how I feel. Some folks also report gastric issues with high doses of iron, I haven't noticed that with this particular type of iron but everyone's different. Be careful not to spill this on fabric it will stain from the looks of things. I've nearly gone through a whole bottle of this over the past couple months and it is keeping my iron levels where they belong will definetly buy this again when I run out in the next month or so. Good stuff and it doesn't taste bad at all. Have not noticed any gastric issues and I feel great.

This one here is the best out of all of them.. the taste is nice and its easy on your stomach. Im anemic and my blood was low i would get headaches, feel tired, and sometimes lethargic.. hunny this medicine here I believe the third week i felt the boost of energy.. i had mental clarity and just felt good. I know alot of women has low iron because of cycles.. yall get this you will not be disappointed. Even my dr said this was a good choice.. she wanted me to try yummy. But i told her i had already had liquid iron she lookes it up and said well yeah its better the potency is high as well.. so get it!!

My ferritin was 6 in January when I started this supplement. I chose this product because it contains a much higher dose of elemental iron than most other products. I began taking larger than recommended doses, usually around 10 ml once a day, sometimes twice. I also took high doses of Vitamin C with it to help with absorption. At first, all was great, no GI issues. After a few weeks I began to feel off and I realized I had gotten constipated so I took a break for a week or so. I also got ONE iron infusion. I resumed taking this supplement after the infusion and then checked levels a week later and I am now on the high side at 324. My hemoglobin went from 11.2 to 11.8, which is an improvement, but am hoping to see more improvement as my body continues to work. I do believe this stuff works. It tastes pleasant to me and was way better than the typical oral supplement pills. While I did get an infusion, I credit the big jump in ferritin to this product primarily because I took so much of it. I took about one and a half bottles of it over 4-6 weeks.

This is, so far, my go-to iron supplement. Tastes like Chocolate, only need 5ml daily, and works pretty well. The only thing I don't like is that it's sweetened with sucralose. Stools do turn dark: but, it's easy on the stomach. Until I find something better, I'll stick with this.

I have tried 3 liquid iron supplements now and this chocolate caramel one is the only one I can tolerate. I tried raspberry from another brand and this brand and both were awful—syrupy, medicinal, and tasted like blood/metal even though they said they don’t. I don’t know how, but the chocolate caramel one isn’t thick like the others and the metallic taste is maybe 1/10th as noticeable. I am disgusted very easily so I mix the liquid iron into something else to hide the taste as much as possible. I put the chocolate caramel in sugar free chocolate milk or hot chocolate and I can’t even taste it. I can’t vouch for the efficacy of the iron yet since I haven’t been taking it for that long, but if it works as it should I will 100000% stick with chocolate caramel forever. Even if you think won’t like it because you don’t like chocolate or caramel, trust me. It’s way, way less gross than the raspberry. Extra advice if you are extremely easily disgusted like me and need even more help covering the flavor: hot chocolate/chocolate milk powder + *peanut butter powder* + milk of your choice. My doctor also suggested a peanut butter and banana smoothie.

This is a great iron supplement that has a chocolate taste to mask the iron potency. Great item that works fast.
