Best cooktop value for the price, can't go wrong
TL;DRWorks fast, great value, great quality build, use with any pan that is magnetic.Excellent product. For the price, the quality of this induction cooktop is excellent. It's one of the best kitchen appliances I've ever bought. No difference between this and more expensive cooktops for the average cook at home.Basically you have 8 temperature settings between 140-500. It will boil water so fast you'll never use a microwave again. Just go down to the store with a magnet and if it sticks and the pot/pan is at least 6 inches in diameter then it will work on this cooktop. It doesn't use a lot of electricity, I was able to run other appliances while frying in the cooktop, i.e. blender & microwave while frying on medium heat.It has a built-in timer to shut off the cooktop after the timer counts down which is really useful if your hands are tied and you know you can't stand next to a simmering pot. There is a lockout button, which prevents children from changing the settings while it's locked out, but don't worry you can stop the lockout easily when you're ready to change the settings.Temperature can be raised by degrees or by a power setting. If a pot is not compatible with the cooktop then it will beep and show E1 on the screen. When pots are too big or too small it will say E7.The only features that it's lacking are that it would be nice to increase/decrease temperature in 5 degree increments and to preset when it will go on/off, but those features are rare on most cooktops tbh. Not impossible to find, but definetely not for the price gourmia sells this unit. There is a built-in fan but it's very quiet, not even as noisy as a typical stovetop fan, but it's about as loud as a fan you might run to cool off a room.Cleanup is really easy! The top is glass so I just unplug the unit, wait for it to cool down and wipe it off with a wet rag, then dry it with a paper towel. However, I have seen speacial gel-like cleaners made for cleaning glass cooktops, I just don't think it's necessary.Best cookware to use on this cooktop? Carbon steel heats up the best! If you use stainless steel, you really need to check it with a magnet first! Some stainless steal has a much lower % of iron and it's the iron in the steel that makes it magnetic. Speaking of iron, cast iron skillets work great, if you don't mind how heavy they are. Don't use pans that are not made for induction, it just won't heat. I've used Red Copper with no luck, but the newer Red Copper has a steel induction plate so it "might" work. (Proceed with caution to avoid dissappointment.) I tried an imitation Copper Chef pan that worked ok, but the steel plate was not big so the pan did not heat on all corners of the pan. Then I tried a legitimate Copper Chef pan and it was 100% compatible. This happens to be my favorite pan; it's light, heats fast & evenly, cools fast, and goes in the oven.I also researched the company and they make a lot of innovative products, so it's not a fly-by-night operation. They are based in America and sell a lot of other kitchen appliances. I'm happy with this cooktop so I'm going to try to buy some of thier other products in hopes that they always carry high quality good value.Anyway, I gave more information that most people need, but for some people who have questions, hopefully this review was helpful. I don't normally go into such detail, but I really felt this product deserved a thorough positive review.Try it and you won't regret it.

Good for the price.
This induction cooker has been excellent to supplement the gas range in our house and while using our RV.Quality is decent, glass top isbeasy to clean and holds up well. The remainder is plastic. There is a cooking fan that runs whenever the unit is on that is a moderate volume. It is quieter than the stove vent fan and does not seem excessively loud but operation isn't silent. This cooker has held up to 5 months of used every other day while full time RVing for 2 months and use in our house. While RVing we'd use it outside more often than not and had no issues leaving outside overnight. We put it away and set it up constantly and have not had durability issues yet.As far as performance, it heats quickly and maintains temperature well. However the "burner" size is quite small. Only about a 6 inch circle in the middle heats up,. This can cause hot spots on pans if using higher heat settings. We observed this small heating area with a range of pots/ pans from small 2 qt pots to cast iron pans to a large 7 qt Dutch oven. This small heating area isnt a surprise at this price point, but it is inconvenient enough to drop this down a star.As far as the heating modes, there is a power setting, 1-8. And there is a temperature setting of 140f up 8 settings in 50f increments. No matter what pot we used, wo noticed the temperature was significantly higher than what was set. For example we hand a localized rolling boil in our Dutch oven when set to 190f. At 190 there should be no boil at all, so that was a disapotment. The lack of real temperature holding makes this less than ideal for one of our goals which was to use it over the course of several hours to cook chili, red beans, stew, ext and keep it at a simmer or just below. This effect can generally still be achieved by using the appropriate power setting instead of using the temperature mode. This does a great job of quickly and efficiently heating food without heating the room. This was a huge selling point for us and it holds true in use.For the price, this is great and I recommend it with the understanding that to fix some of the issues listed above you will have to spend significantly more money.

I love this cooktop more than any other cooking device in my kitchen💯💯💯💯
Well... I have not used my conventional stove since I purchased this GOURMIA.. 3 years ago!! I mean this thing is perfect in all it does.. and its versatile power mode has drastically reduced my power bill without sacrifice of inadequate heating. I use it 7 days a week. Heats compatible cookware very well n safe very very very safe to use. Other brand name units costing double the price is not worth the purchase in comparison of this GOURMIA Induction stovetop.. its just as good as ANY TOP MODEL.. VERY RELIABLE.. SAFE & DEFINENTLY PRODUCT FUNCTIONAL LONGEVITY.💯💯👍👍🙂

Phantom power
It heats well and all functions are working. I do not like the fact that it draws phantom power (.65 amps) when turned off. I have noticed that all brands of induction heaters have this flaw. My older one I have draws almost 1 amp when turned off. Just don't forget to unplug it when not using it.

Great product - love it
I used this electric induction cooktop for cooking noodles, frying some meat and veggies and boiling water. It was awesome! It was easy to use and clean. The heat cooked the food and boiled the water quickly. I like this cooktop very much. I will use it to have the Chinese hot pot next time.

Great Cooktop but...
Is a little moody now and again. Some days it will work perfectly, will cook things on the perfect heat and will not give out, but some days will take a lot of time either to start or just heat things in general. But, considering the good days are more than the bad days, not a bad purchase in the least!

Heats quickly and evenly, but overheats easily
Heats my pots and pans seriously quickly. Full power will boil a pot of water so 3 or 4 times faster than on my gas range. That being said, it will also overheat quickly if using a heavy cast iron pan. It seems to do ok with soup, but if using cast iron to sear something, I recommend starting on this, and moving it to a burner. If you're planning on using it for that somewhere away from your stove, the overheating could be a deal breaker.

... is as described but didn't mention this thing is SUPER NOISY IT IS ANNOYING
Item is as described but didn't mention this thing is SUPER NOISY IT IS ANNOYING! The noise coming out its air vent is louder than my electric fan on no.3 mode! Yes it works but I prefer to cook in peace and quiet tyvm! This should be cheaper for its current quality. I do not recommend this!
