*update* So its been 2 months and 2 days since I got this lighter. I use it daily. Igniting it atleast 10-20 times per day. The plastic knob on top hasnt worn out as i predicted it would. And really, the only wear is on the bottom, there's some paint chipping off. Its still a great lighter. *update* I'm detail oriented, lots of you are too. I appreciate this kind of feedback so, your welcome. First impressions, it was smaller than I expected. It's not "small", I just expected it to be a bit bigger. But I like that it's smaller now. It's physical size gives no impression of just how hot this torch is. I haven't used it enough to see how often I'll have to refill, but so far this thing is dynamite. It has two flames which you can turn a knob to take down to one flame, but you want to pick which you like and leave it there, forever. While most of this torch feels of quality, the knob that controls the flame count is plastic, and kind of flimsy. At 39 yo, I've learned to recognize a knob that won't live long with regular use. And this is that kind of knob my friend. I can just see you turning it one day and nothing happens because the thin plastic grooves are worn and it doesn't grip anymore. And my last complaint is the black plastic that covers the handle/tank area. Again, it's a small thing, but it rotates a mm or so left to right. It's just a sleeve of plastic over the metal body, and there's a rectangular metal groove that projects from the body that prevents the sleeve from just rotating at will over the body. The metal retaining groove in the body, doesn't fill the retaining notch in the plastic sleeve completely, so it has some wiggle. But, other than that, this thing is killer. I mean the stickers on mine, which are good quality, were a little crooked and not pressed on all the way, but this bad boy, or girl (whatever), get's the job the done and then some. It's honestly small enough to carry in your pocket if you need to, but I think you could lead solder copper pipes in a pinch. I bought it for dabbing, and it's perfect. You can't beat this torch for $20 man. I honestly bought it for the dual flame and because it looked cool. But if I had paid $50 for this thing, I'd still be raving about it. So if you're cruising the reviews because you want to buy it but you just can't make up your mind, just do it dude, really, you WILL NOT regret it. And on the 1% chance that your an alien and don't like awesome human things, you can always just return it! God bless Amazon!

Its a joy to buy something that meets my standards of quality, strength, design, and function. This is not a pocket cigarette lighter but it is not as large as the true culinary torches. This fits a great in-between. With one burner going it can be easily controlled to a blue but "bic" level of flame. On dual and high - it would work well in the kitchen - but its smaller fuel capacity would be impractical for professional / high capacity use. The dual burner value works flawless - no spurting/half-lit burners that are suppose to be off. The ignition/ fuel on lever is solid, and very controllable. A slow cycle of the lever turns on the gas and the spark ignites the flame - Why can't other manufactures seem to get this simple process down to a science instead of a gamble? The flame/fuel control is a simple low to high valve that will take the flame to its smallest level and past to where the pressure is too low for a reliable ignition. When lit for 10 sec on low dual flame - The nozzle has barely gotten warm. So..... if you are looking for a table lighter.. or a culinary torch I would highly recommend this. NOTE - I only got this today... so long term problems cannot be addressed.

*Brief Update, original review below.* I have had both lighters for over 2 years now, both still with very well and lights fast and almost always on first click. Seems like it you use decent fuel, bleed out the old vapor when it's empty and don't drop it often or too hard, it will definitely last for a long time, both of mine have. This has been a great little torch, so much so that I bought a second torch. They have never stopped working and the flame is consistent on both. Although I do not use the double flame often it is very nice to have it when I need a bit more surface area. I have dropped them on the ground a couple of times and they continued to light. I do bleed out any extra fuel when I go to refill because that is what I was taught to do, and use decent fuel to keep lighter clean. Overall, I really like this lighter and would 100% recommend and to be very clear I have not received anything for this review and have never received anything from this company or brand. This is just a 100% honest review of a product I liked so much that I bought another.

First off, I have to start off with this is the only butane lighter you'll ever need at home. Obviously, if you're on the go, it's a bit too large but that's clearly not what this is intended for. It's actually powerful enough for both bangers AND brulee (personally tested, too), but the knob control allows the flame to get small enough to actually use for bowls and cigars (again, personally tested!). The dual flame looks super cool when it bounces off your banger at a high setting--just be careful! THAT BEING SAID, here are some personal gripes (and why I can't just give a 5 star review): - The flame control knob is only useful from max setting to about the middle. Any lower and the flame doesn't even ignite. Not a huge problem, just wondered if others had this experience, too. - The flames are so thin and long they tend to bounce off of things--if used on a banger, the powerful flame doesn't just travel up along the bowl's side, it actually can bounce off at like a 90 degree angle. Take this as a warning to people who use smaller bongs or have a plastic stem clip like I do (which WILL catch fire, those are not made of heat-resistant plastic). It looks cool, but it can be a hazard. - HOLY HELL is this a pain to refill! I think I might have received a faulty version because no other reviews seem to mention this, but the nozzle for butane on mine is actually a millimeter too small for standard butane. It doesn't sound like a huge difference but it literally meant that I almost got freezer burn from trying to fill it out because if the lighter is even CLOSE to being full, most of your butane will probably shoot out onto the sides. Like I said, maybe I got a faulty product. Maybe I've just been trying to fill it habitually when in reality it doesn't need constant filling. I'm used to smaller lighters, okay? That being said, the capacity's great. This isn't really as big of a problem as I make it out to be when you realize that this lighter doesn't need very much filling at all. - It's actually a tad bit cooler than a few of those cheapo, single flame butane lighters. This usually doesn't make a difference unless you're dealing with bangers. I find that while it does get bangers hot enough EVENTUALLY, this flame will never make a quartz banger glow red (though, like I said, it gets it hot enough to use EVENTUALLY), and you will definitely find that it heats up bangers quite a bit slower. I used to have an old butane lighter that would get a large quartz banger to red hot in like 20-30 seconds, and this one takes 20-30 seconds just to get the bowl to the lowest temp that'll actually vaporize. Cool upsides outside of just performing really, really well: - Dual flames!!!! Are they useless? Yes. Are they cool, though? Absolutely yes. - This is probably because this thing holds four whole ounces of butane, but the lighter almost NEVER refuses to light. A lot of smaller lighters will actually get too cold to light when you fill them, but this one never does that. - Lock feature! More controls! Isn't that what you want once you get past the basic question, "Is it hot enough"? - Looks great, feels great in your hand. The trigger is easier to press than other lighters, and the flame adjustment is separate from it so there's no twist-then-lock-then-adjust-flame-then-hope-my-grip-is-good-enough-to-finesse. There is a good, hefty weight to it, too, that feels good to handle. And this is obvious, but please don't use this for soldering. Some torches actually advertise themselves for soldering as an extra feature, but that just means it gets hot enough to melt solder. Although the single, long flame you can achieve with this lighter makes it actually the best lighter candidate for soldering, it's nowhere near as precise as an iron. Just get something actually made for soldering.

Just finished writing this novel of silly torchness... Thought I would share that I convinced myself to go ahead and repurchase this torch, cause yeah I do love it... Just booo cause it was way cheaper the first time I bought it.. Oh well... Review...ish: So sure dropping it and making it less functional is super on me... But I do love it overall even with it's lesser abilities after my abuse. And to be really fair the only ability its lost is it doesn't self ignite anymore, I have to use an outside flame to light it & that prob would have eventually happened on its own, esp since that tends to be the first breaking point on butane torches. The lock still works as does the flame switch & flame adjust, but the slide has gotten loose. Although that doesn't effect its function, I do feel and can't prove that all the dropping may have loosened the tank in some way that it either silently leaks (which it wouldn't be silent) or more than likely, it just doesn't hold as much butane as it used to. But again thats on me not the actual torch. I have had this torch since Oct 2019 (9 months) and still use it, just not as a daily torch anymore since I'm trying out others. I have been on an epic quest looking for "My Torches", plural cause I want in various sizes, and this quest has been what feels like forever and always, cause lets face it torches are really crazy random dramatic bitches and do what they want, not what you want. And even if you treat torches with epic love and care and never do anything wrong, they still will go crazy one day... they just weren't built for a lifetime. Well if your like me and use them daily, a lot daily. Now that I have this understanding, my torches & I have a way better relationship... And I wanna throw them against the wall as a first strike attack in smashing to tiny bits, a lot lot lot less now... This one specifically I love the size (I think I have already found MY large sizes, so more focused on med & sml), it's small enough for my creepy small girl carny hands, but not too big I can't use one handed. Its a little over 5 inches tall if you wanna get technical. It is a little heavy, like in Pajama Pants vs Dbl Flame Torch; torch wins... on several occasions its taken my pj pants down with little effort, but vs Jeans... jeans win. I Absolutely Love that you can shift it from 1 flame to 2 and back very easily. I haven't found another yet with this function & really can't express enough how freakin awesome it is! It makes it capable of doing so much more! I will say tho, because it is overall a smaller torch & the tank is smaller, the dbl flame does eat thru the butane quicker. If you have ever used any of the handheld sized with quad flames you know the concept. But with only single flame use it has a good amount of time before needing a refill. Like with anything its a give and take... I only use my torches for a couple things so I really can't speak to what they would be good at outside of personal experience usage. Like I said they get used a lot daily for... smoking... different smokable type materials from different apparatuses, like dabbing type stuff and such... also for small resin jewelry pieces. This torch works great with single flame to remove the bubbles in small and rarely med size pieces, just be cautious and aware of the flame size cause its easy to burn the molds. It also works great with the double flame on bangers and nails for dabbing like activities, specifically ceramic, but works good on titanium and quartz alike. (Side note: if you havent tried the ceramic nails, I highly rec that you do. They heat evenly and in my opinion stay hot longer than the others & without having to get red red hot. Just don't use ceramic nail in glass/pyrex/quartz piece cause it will crack it. Best paired with silicone pc) The single flame, although stronger, made it so I no longer needed to buy the eagle mini torches or ones of that size, which I hated so I love this. I have been thinking about re-buying this torch lately, every time I do use it I can't shake the feeling that it may be one of the ones.. I don't know... At the very least I feel like I need to buy it and re-try without all the dropping and see where it lands without my help pushing it down. Bottomlines: - Freakin Awesome Feature of being able to use a single or dbl flame and changing it as nec, even while in use - Smaller Size: Good: personally I love the handheld size Bad: Smaller tank size. Will have to refill more often esp when using dbl flame - A little Heavier than expected/ not suited for pockets in a lighter material - Choice of how many flames to use = Sooooo many more options of usages = Able to use this one vs many I def recommend this to anyone looking for a more handheld sized torch and wanting to use for multiple things... anyone who is patient enough not to complain of constant refill, esp if using for multi things. Edit January 2024: One of my two torches finally broke. Thats the longest I’ve ever had one of these pocket torches last, and with frequent use. The other one is still going strong. Edit April of 2022: Still works like new, no leaks. I bought a 2nd one a year ago and it still works too,. Most reliable torch, other ones I’ve tried usually break after a few months. —- Pretty happy with this torch. It’s heavy, solid, doesn’t seem to leak and heats up my quartz banger fast enough. Not some half plastic junk, feels like a quality tool and so far it seems to be. I read a review complaining that the lock feature is broken and causes fuel to leak.... you misunderstood the feature. It’s not a safety to keep it from turning on, it locks the torch in the flame on position after you light it so you can set it down on a table and hold things over the flame. Works perfectly for that purpose.

Expected a good kitchen torch for a good price. What I got was a much smaller than expected torch, a very weak flame (whether it’s one or two flames), in a unit that would not hold butane. I filled it upon arrival, and it lit right away. I tried the one flame and two flame and was surprised at how small they were. But I figured I would soldier on. I put two steaks in my sous vide and normally I put them in a red hot cast-iron skillet to sear the outside. When I tried to use the torch to sear them it wouldn’t light because it was out of butane... though I had just filled it a couple hours previously. When I refilled it and tried to sear the steak exteriors, it was so weak that I wasn’t even browning the outside of the meat. (Don’t believe that pictures you see in the advertising). I tested the butane levels by trying to light the torch, but I would fill it and it would be empty after sitting about 15 to 20 minutes. It arrived on Saturday, return forms filled out on Sunday in the mail returned on Monday. Don’t waste your time or money.

My wife has arthritis. Must have a working candle lighter, or cooking. Lots of them claim that they are easy to use, but they aren't. The squeeze types in plastic are tough, with a heavy spring; many other torch types I've purchased are complicated and difficult to use. People who design them don't really know how difficult it can be to operate this type of lighter. This lighter is amazing. First, it's small and easy to grip. It's got the option of two flames. But most importantly, it operates with an easy, light, simple push of a button. It's more a button than a lever or valve, and even with limited hand strength, it's easy, easy, easy. This is the very best small lighter I've ever found. It's so good that in writing this, I'll order several more just to have them on hand. Really!
