By using both, I can measure the spacing between them. If they’re about 16 inches apart, I know for sure I’ve got studs. Easy it just locates the nails, which helps u find the beams. Awesome cheap product that’s efficient and will last forever. No battery’s or recharges needed.

Clever product. Essentially it’s just a magnet locating nails. Works well and easy to use but the price is a bit high.

This is too easy and 100% accurate. No looking for batteries, holding down buttons while you watch a meter jump around and beep randomly. This uses the ultra-simple principle that drywall is anchored with either screws or nails, both of which are metallic, then covered with joint compound. As long as the fastener is in a stud, this will detect it with its super strong magnet. Once you find the fastener, it stays in place. No need to mark with a pencil. Great product and I couldn't be more satisfied. What could be more accurate than finding the original fastener in the wall?

This stud finder is great! Strong magnet that allows hands free use. Can be a little tricky to make sure you are near the nail in the stud, so some side to side and up and down needed. But it works!

It only works if that stud has a nail in it that it can stick to (detect). If you can not find another nail along that studs path you are out of luck. You are back to guessing the full path or direction of the stud. It also does not distinguish well if it's a stud, a junction box, or a pipe. I tested this vs WALABOT DIY 2 on a recently contracted pantry that was put up by contractors we hired and they accidentally placed two beams slightly crooked and off about 1-2'sh inches at the top vs the bottom. Now that the dry wall is up I wanted to put up shelves and needed to locate those very studs knowing two of the stud beams would not form a straight line. Studbuddy found 1-2 nails of two different studs but I could not locate the whole stud or the direction of the stud, especially, where it was off by an inch or two from top to bottom. Pretty useless tool in my opinion if you can find some studs but not all with any consistency. I pulled out my new WALABOT DIY 2 since I bought both together to hedge my bets) and wow, night and day. Found every single beam the first time, found the centers (visually), and never had to recheck. Gluing and nailing 4 Flowwall panels with 4 Flowwall wire shelves done in 30 minutes. Sorry Studbuddy, WALABOT DIY 2 has you beat, hands down. Being the cheaper product in this case is not to the DIY's advantage. "Search" Amazon for WALABOT DIY 2 and save yourself the hassle. You will never need another stud finder again.

Excellent item, easy to use. Strong magnet easily finds screws in plasterboard. Be sensible and use an electrical detection tool before drilling though

Genuinely simple product that works. Used it to find studs behind drywall to hang flat screen TV. No battery required. No hit and miss. Just a simple magnet that finds every nail in the wall.

After trying multiple digital devices from the local hardware store (which either did not work or broke quickly), decided to try the old school way. These are just so much better! Would recommend to anyone trying to find studs in their drywall!
