Kitchen Safe Time Locking Container (Medium), Timed Lock Box for Cell Phones, Snacks, and other unwanted temptations (Blue Lid + 5.5” White Base with Access Port)

This works exactly as I hoped it would. I got the clear one so that I could see what was inside because I was afraid I would forget and I’m glad I made that choice. The mechanism is very easy: you just turn the dial a few times until your desired number of hours and minutes and then press it. It will countdown for five seconds and then two little plastic pins (or tabs), one at each side, come out into little holes locking it until your timer runs out. I keep snack items in it so that I will only eat them once a day.The first lid I got actually did not work but the company’s support was very quick in replacing - I sent an email and they answered within a few hours with the new lid arriving two days later. They even sent me the color I wanted (red) which hadn’t been available at the time I placed my order on Amazon. The replacement lid worked perfectly and I love the red. The blue was actually pretty nice too.One thing to note is that the instructions say that if the battery runs out you won’t be able to open the container until you replace the batteries. This makes sense because you don’t want it to be too easy to disable by just taking out the batteries. As far as I can tell what will happen when the batteries run out is that the timing will go into memory and when you put the batteries in the clock will start counting down from there. That is just my interpretation, however, because this has not happened to me yet. I would, however, recommend that you have batteries on hand for when this happens.Another thing to note is that the instructions say not to put it in the refrigerator or freezer. What they recommend is that if you want to lock up something like ice cream you get another lock box for your ice cream and put the key in this container. If you do that you might as well get the smallest cheapest one because presumably your keys won’t take up too much room. Initially I wasn’t thrilled with how much this thing costs, but on reflection I realize that if it were too cheap I might just break it to get what I want from inside :)The last thing of note has to do with what happens if you accidentally lock up something you need to get to like your credit card or phone. The instructions that come with this say that if that happens you should contact the company for further instructions about how to break the base without breaking the lid. Basically this is because the base is much cheaper than the lid and they can send you a replacement for less money. I do not plan on finding out the details of this unless I need to know them, but since I am only planning on locking up chocolate and potato chips it is probably not going to be an issue for me.

This is extremely handy. I use it for protein bars, which I buy in bulk for a better deal. In the photo, I have 48 bars, but I think up to 60 could fit if you fill it to the brim.Protein bars are good in that they help me reach my daily protein goal, but they can taste like candy bars and be addictive (even my low-sugar bars). This has fixed that problem.I highly recommend buying a clear version so you can see what’s inside.Note the paper towel roll, as shown for a height comparison.I plan to buy a Mini in the future just for holding my phone. God knows I am too attached to that! I can’t even watch Netflix without the urge to scroll…The only thing is I wish the Mini cost less than the Medium. I don’t know why they’re the same price.

Funny Story...this is the 3rd K Safe I've bought. Before I bought a K Safe I had another time lock safe and it was horrible, such a pain to operate that you just wouldn't use it, not worth the effort. When I got my first K Safe I slapped it together in a few seconds and learning how to operate it instantaneously, it's very intuitive, you don't need instructions...it's a timer, you turn the big nob until you get to the time you want to be locked out, then you press the big nob and after a short moment the motors kick on and engage the lock. But, I'm not writing to tell you about the mechanics of the actual box, that's simple. I want to tell you about the usefulness of having a tool that allows you to plan out the consumption of whatever your weakness is. The K Safe makes moderating yourself so easy ... if you love gummy bears and can't keep your paws out of the bag until they are all gone this box is for you. When you get your sack of gummys split them, but half in the candy bowl and the other half in the K Safe. Knowing you got half of your usually supply to work with you will enjoy your gummies at a controlled pace. Also knowing you will have more bears becoming available will destroy you motivation to drive the store to buy more. The K Safe is a training tool...it helps you change your behavior. Is the K Safe a cure-all-end-all for over indulgence? Nope, not at all, but it does help a motivated person to get where they need to be. Who sets the time it opens? You do! Who decides how much is going in and how much can remain out? You! So respect your own decisions. Can you cheat? Of course, it's a plastic box, people break into armored trucks like it's cool, K Safe is not going to stop a motivated adult but it will help a motivated adult stretch the time between gummies, first 6 hours, than 8, then 10 etc etc.When I got my first K Safe I immediately saw how it was going to benefit me. I also saw how it could really benefit a buddy so I got one to gift to him on his birthday. On his birthday I went to explain what I was giving him and why... it didn't sound cool at all...I got you this so you can regulate your intake, not saying it needs regulating but you know if you did need than you could use this to keep some .... oh, forget it, here's your gift, just take it!I thought I had damaged our friendship but not only was he not offended he loved the K Safe too and used the heck out of it ... he even ordered one as a gift to a friend of his...we both got a laugh at how he was going to inoffensively explain what i couldn't.

Super simple but amazingly helpful for those moments when self-control is lacking and you need to put something away to keep pushing forward. Still working on including it more and more in my day to day life but it's been a big bonus for major moments of weakness. Highly endorse!!

I put my phone in at night and it prevents me from waking up in the middle of night and looking at it. I am sleeping better. I am not waking up as much in the middle of the night and falling back to sleep quickly. I highly recommend.

I’d have a couple cookies after dinner then lock up the rest of the cookies to be opened at the next dinner time. This kept me from munching on the cookies all through the night. I like it!

A little expensive but it works exactly as advertised. Locks for an amount of time with no way to open. it's a large size which is great big enough since i put my phones and my cables so i don't use my computer.

Who knew what I truly needed to finally exercise self-control was to just literally lock things away for periods of time? Immensely helpful and I'm very grateful this product exists. It has led to significant improvement in my overall day-to-day existence. 10/10

Works as intended. If you have something that requires self control. Just lock it up and forget about it. Set the time, and stay withing your limits. Works great!
