Heavy Duty Plate Compactor for paving and soil compaction and compacting sand into place. Great for increasing the density of soil and increasing its load bearing capacity. Soil compacting also decreases water seepage prevents soil settlement reduces swelling contraction of the soil and prevents frost damage. This compactor is most suitable for compacting a narrow confined area and finishing asphalt, soil, sand and sloping surfaces

Excellent budget compactor!
I've had this little guy for almost a year now. I would classify it's duties as light commercial. In a nutshell, I've probably put 60 to 80 hours on it and couldn't be happier. I admit I was skeptical at first, but this machine has far exceeded my expectations. I use this mostly for paver patio and block wall bases, and find it to be better than the Wacker 1885. It is lighter, easier to move around and less invasive. I often avoided many places because a Wacker is just a bit too large and aggressive. The Wacker is really built for finishing asphalt, so it's heavy and there are some issues when you put it in rocks and dirt. That alone makes me like this machine more, the price is just a bonus. The plate design is wonderful on this machine. The big, solid welded plate doesn't get materials wedged in it. I have NEVER had to stop this machine and un-jam anything. It always starts right up, runs very well. I have left it out in snow and rain and it has had all the mistreatment one would expect a commercial machine to endure, and it has taken it all very well. I was also impressed with the owner's manual and "kit" that came with it. Mine even came with a spare belt, which was oddly reassuring that the manufacturer actually figures it will last that long. I still haven't needed to swap it, but I am confident the machine will last a very long time if maintained. Spark plug, air filter etc. are common and available at any hardware store. The only complaint? The labels marking the choke and fuel shut off are wrong. Once you figure those out, it runs absolutely flawless.I highly recommend this machine for consumer and light commercial use.

Great Product for the price
We have owned the Powerland PDZ2045 25-inch x 18-inch 6.5 HP OHV Gas Powered Landscaping Plate Compactor for almost 3 yrs now. It works great haven't had any problems with it. It is a heavy machine, but very easy to operate. Great piece of machinery for the DIY!! Got tired of renting one every time we started a new project. So far we have done 2 driveways, 3 patios and 4 walk ways.

incredile value and machine
Professional who got tired of $80 rental/day fees. Decided to purchase own and found other machines elsewhere costing much more. Read the reviews and decided to try this one. It arrived in 3 days, does the job and does it well. Has already paid for itself. Great value! Never would have thought to shop for this at amazon, but very glad we did~

Excellent value for the money
It's Chinese, but most everything is nowadays. Quality is good for the money. Starts easy and runs well. I will buy more.

You get what you paid
Hi,I'm a DIYer. We planed to renew our driveway and backyard, patio with paver brick, also build our garden studio. After reading DIY books, watching some DIY TV show, we got basic idea what to do. Buying all material is easy, to rent all power tool (jack hammer, plate compactor, dumpster bin,...) are a little bit different. We can only work in weekend, and without previous experience, in order to compact subbase for patrio and driveway, we believe that it may take us several weekend to make, so rent tool by days is not quite good deal to us (a compactor is about 290lb, we need to haul it in our minivan, return it, then rent it again, no way.) So, we start to buy a cheap plate compactor, then we can use it whenever we need, and we can eventually sell it on Craigslist after all project are done. Sound a good deal! Price of brand name compactor is quite high, $15xx, $20xx. So, we turn to some no-brand or made-in-china model. Ebay, Amazon have lots of those. Finally, we got this one (no in Amazon.) Our driveway is about 800sq ft., patio are about 600 sq ft. After digging out all existing dirt, we start the plate compactor to tamp the sub-base. This unit is heavy, but it is powerful. easy to turn, I think even my wife can use it (she never touch it, though.) Start in the first pull. So far, I was happy with it.After the old sub-base was compacted, we followed the instruction of DIY book to fill roadbase gravel, then compact it, that works for my patio, however, when work on my driveway, this machine stops, and some smoke is out from engine. This is just our third time to use it. In average, we used it no more than three hours each time (on and off.) Calling seller for help, we are told to send it back for service (I'm in southern california, they are in east coast.) Shipping charge is crazy $150 one way. In our budget plan, this is not acceptable, so this baby is still sitting in our garage and play dead till now.Our driveway is still a mess, so the project needs to go on. Then, go to ebay to get another cheap compactor (powered by LiFan engine, China made.) This one is far cheaper than this Powerland one, $250 less. This one worked pretty well the first time we used it to compact roadbase gravel of my driveway. Then, we put our paver brick on, then use it again to compact paver brick and joint sand, this time, the compactor works ok, but this model is hard to turn, and because it comes without wheel kit, we need to push/pull it around our work site, it is quite a pain. And because this model, the handle is installed at the back (not the center,) so it is pretty hard to change direction. We spent lots of time to turn this machine while compacting our paver brick. Overall the power is good. Then our friends saw our new driveway and would like to do it by themselves, so they borrow our compactor. The machine is kind of cursed, after moving to my friend's job site, just can not start, even we change oil, add fuel, change filter, just no luck. You guess it right, service/examination is needed and S/H is crazy to send it back. I can not stop wondering if they make money from those service...My friend turns to big orange store to rent one, a Mikasa one. Easy to start, easy to turn, stable, but noisy and heavy. Three men haul this machine to my minivan. However, this machine does the job, quick and stable (I think it has larger plate, and maybe it is heavy.) I wish I was smart enough to rent it at the beginning. And, my personal opinion is, do not trust those cheapter plate compactor (you can find lots of them in exxy,) You got what you paid for, and good tool can really save your time, especially you are a DIYer. Now, I have to sell these two broken machines in craiglist for parts.

Can't buy parts Buyer Beware
Machine works okay, but if something ever breaks you will be screwed. You can not buy parts to repair this machine. I have looked everywhere. The pull start broke on mine, and now I have a 700 dollar lawn ornament.

Paper weight
If you really like to work hard, then this is the compactor for you! It will not go up hill at all, and it has to be pushed or pulled when ever there is the slightest variation in terain.
