When the original battery on my Dyson V8 began to degrade to the point where it needed replacement, I first checked the manufacturer’s website to see what an OEM battery would cost. Before ordering, my brother suggested I take a look at this replacement battery since he had recently purchased one for his own Dyson V8 and had been very satisfied with the performance. The installation process was simple and quick. After removing three screws, I was able to access and remove the original battery. The new battery slid into place easily, and once the screws were reinstalled the vacuum was ready to go again. The entire process took less than five minutes. One helpful tip is to make sure the battery is properly seated when reinstalling the screws—if it’s not aligned correctly the screws won’t thread in easily, so it’s best not to force them. Once installed, the replacement battery looks nearly identical to the original OEM battery, and the color matches the vacuum perfectly, which helps maintain the overall look of the unit. In terms of performance, I was pleasantly surprised. This battery has a slightly larger capacity than the original, and even when using the vacuum on the Max setting I’m seeing noticeably longer runtime—roughly about 30% more than what I experienced when the vacuum was new. I also didn’t notice the battery running any warmer than the original pack despite the extended run time. Overall, this replacement battery has been an excellent and cost-effective way to extend the life of my Dyson V8. It installs easily, looks great, and delivers impressive runtime. I waited several months to review this to make sure the battery did not slowly start to lose its charge. It has been many months now and I can still say I am so incredibly impressed by this battery performance. I swear it is better than the original one that came with my Dyson. When I first got my Dyson, I could vacuum the entire downstairs of my house (approximately 1,000 sf) and maybe up the steps and the hallway if I was quick. Over the course of 4 years, the battery wore down so badly that I was only able to vacuum my living room quickly. With this battery I'm able to vacuum the entire downstairs, up the steps and four upstairs bedrooms. It's been many months and I have not noticed any decrease in the length of time I'm able to vacuum. This battery is excellent and would highly recommend.

Easy to install - plenty of you tube videos. Cheaper than buying directly from Dyson too. Now the vacuum runs like new instead of dying in 10 minutes!!

The rating is due to the product not being what was pictured/listed. The picture and title indicate this is compatible with the Dyson v8-sv10. Nope. The stem in the product's main advertising picture looks just like the one I need (see my old battery on the left in my picture), but it is actually the newer stem type (same photo on the right) that doesn't work with the original v8-sv10. It has an added fin that prevents the battery from making any contact with the internal electrical contacts/prongs in the vacuum.

This was easy to install and my Dyson and has improved the performance so now I could vacuum longer. The reason for four stars is that the size is a little bit off for my Dyson charging stand. So now it is a little bit tricky to get in and out, but overall not a big deal. I would buy this again.

I'll tell what I know at the moment. Arrived on time, packed well and fit my vac perfectly. Came charged enough to test and vacuum for awhile. What I don't know is its longevity at use and repeated charging cycles. For now DEFINITELY satisfied..........oh, the two bonus filters included also fit perfectly. What i didn't expect is they were exactly the same design and color of original filter
