It is very soft and does not have any odor (I'm sensitive to both!) The beads inside and heavy enough to feel really good and comfortable against my eyeballs when they are hurting. The only (maybe complaint I would have is that it slips and slides off my eyes too easily. If it had some kind of a loose and/or adjustable strap to hold it in place, it might be more usable. That's why the 4 stars. I only use it when I am wanting to lay flat on my back, which is not that often, apparently. This one is just the right size (at least for me), doesn't cover my whole face, or hang down to far on the sides. Just enough size and weight to keep my eyelids closed and keep the light out. The fabric is really soft, which is great for the cold.
