I initially took three a day for a week - then two - then one - and now I only take one every three days unless I feel I need to - ie going away/overeating ! and my 'bodily functions' are normal for the first time in as long as I can remember - I actually feel free of worry if we are out and about. **Q: Are these the same as the twice expensive Optibac ?** A: No. These aren't as effective for me and although it says they're Gluten Free in the description the bottle contains warnings about cross - contamination. This one was equally effective and cheaper. The only problem I had is that when I took 2 pills per day for 2-3 consecutive days I had some bloating as a side effect (which I think is actually very common for some people when taking saccharomyces boulardii).
