I’m sure the sponge is more hygienic and retains less germs and smells, and is dishwasher safe, and all the other stuff the manufacturer claims. I do like them but have a few quibbles.When cleaning tomato sauce off plates, the green one stained and I haven’t been able to wash the stain out, no matter how hard I scrub.They clean most dishes well, but are a little flimsy and not really suited to scrubbing dried on food from plates, even after a bit of soaking. For this I have resorted to keeping a sponge scourer around for this type of washing up job, which defeats the purpose of buying them.They are nice and bright and I like that they dry out completely between use.
