Very compact and doesn't take up much space at all. I like that you can use it in a car or at your desk, but I use it beside my bed at night. It does have 2 settings; you can have it diffuse continuously, or it will start/stop on a cycle. I've learned that it will last a night's sleep on the start/ stop cycle. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the fact that I wish it were a little taller/ bigger to allow the chamber to hold more water. I do realize that it's designed to be small, but that's really the only flaw it has. Very quiet.
