I can get really hot under covers and didn't want a pillow to add to it. The cooling part really works! I was skeptic of it really staying cool but it really does. Almost too cold! Not really but it adds coolness and I can feel it as I am falling asleep. The pillow is great for side sleeping and keeping everything in line. My hip is feeling better the more I use it. I do wish it came with a strap to keep it in place, more my fault as I move around in my sleep at times. I often find it off the bed in the morning.
